Streaming a lot of dying light, it's everything I wanted dead island to be and I don't get why it gets hate

I was hoping to be able choose my main character much like Dead Island, I guess. I may play Dying Light eventually, but I don't know. I was unaware that it received hate but then again everything does. What do people hate about it?
