11 Universal Remotes
8 Plan C's
6 Truths/No Land Beyonds/Dragon's Breaths
5 Red Deaths
4 Suros Regimes/TLW's/Ice Breakers
2 Thunderlords/Hawkmoons/Monte Carlos
1Mida Multi-tool/Hard Light/Patience and Time/4th Horseman
I get that RNG does handle a lot of it, but assuming all chances are supposedly the same why would I have 11 of one exotic and only 1 of another. This represents 38 chances at an exotic (excluding armors that I have rolled). If the odds were the same on all of them then I should have about 3 of each of these exotics and not varied numbers.
To further explain why it is weighted, lets say this was a lottery ball drawing. If these represent the true chances that means that 11 of the balls have universal remote printed (as well as the allotted weapons printed on other balls). Now if someone were to reach in a pick one of the balls, they would have no idea which one they are drawing, but since UR has been printed on the majority there is a good chance that the person is going to draw the UR.
I have also seen dozens of posts where people get varying other exotics more than other. I know for a fact a friend of mine was only missing UR recently, but constantly got thunderlord as a drop.
Though I am somewhat curious as what the most exotic drops are for other people, I a beginning to think the system creates an exotic loot table for us all.

You are attacking a statistical problem with intuition, and not mathematics. It is no surprise that you arrived at a wrong conclusion. What you see is a common result of a true random system. There is no memory in a random system, so there is no reason not to get a duplicate result.
-
You need to realize that Destiny's RNG is the core of the game. It is designed to keep you pressing the red button for more candy. They think if you have all the candy you wont come back for more. This just dawned on me the other day. I am honestly so sick of the same god damn candy that I am pretty sure that I wont get any new candy anyway. If you don't like the rng take a breather. I already decided if I dont get a new exotic after all the raids and nightfalls this week that I am putting the game on the shelf until the next expansion. I have become so obsessed with the hunt for ghorn and vex that I can't even enjoy the game anymore. I even stopped badering all my friends to get the game in fear that I will have to stop my hunt to help them. So RNG here is one sure thing for once: If you waste another week of gameplay for me I will turn on you. If you don't I will go back to my not so selfish ways and help other guardians again. I kind of hope it fails me so I can go outside and enjoy the changing season.

Now that would be hard code to write.
random is random
I have more NLB then the U.S.S.R had Vodka bottles. Onces got 3 in my NFs 1 on a legendary engram 2 from Deathsinger hard and 1 from Crota norm. 7 in one Tuesday. 7. Like -blam!-! My clan thinks i plot with Xur to sell them on Fridays.

I seriously feel more stupid after reading this. Congrats man. It's hard to make people lose intelligence in such a short amount of time.

Edited by Kage Goomba: 4/30/2015 4:05:25 AMPoor delusional fool. sigh. Weapons may be weighted on value...but its not weighted on you.
-
Must explain why I get so many time on targets.
-
I think it is weighted as well. I at one point had every exotic weapon other than all the exotic auto rifles. Got multiple Truths, Plan C, No land Beyond, etc. but could never get one single auto rifle. Then a week before he last sold Hard Light I got it to drop, then Monte Carlo, followed by 2 more Hard Lights. Still no Suros drop, but he sold it recently and I bought it. Lately every exotic weapon that has dropped for me the last 5 to be exact have been snipers (2 no land beyond, 2 patience and time, and 1 Ice Breaker). Definitely do not think there is any balance to the madness.
-
The last three exotics I got were all Mida, I love the gun but I don't need extra shards
6 total, 5 sharded
Edited by FixtusBlack: 4/30/2015 4:28:37 AMIf weapon drops are equally weighted, you'd expect to see a roughly equal distribution overall. It doesn't necessarily follow that each individual player would have a roughly equal number of drops for each gun. Each player represents only a tiny fraction of the total weapon drops that have occurred. The fact that you've had 11 Universal Remotes drop and I've never had one (I bought mine from Xur) doesn't mean that the overall number of Universal Remote drops for all players isn't roughly the same as any other weapon.

I've gotten plan c a bunch also p&t truth and dragonsbreath.
-
It does I've been saying this. Since I got one epilogue I keep getting them. This is not rng once you have been picked to get something you are more likely for repeat. And this jams you on getting what you don't have.
-
Oh wow!! I'm not even going to try correcting you....
-
I don't believe this is proof, however I believe you have the right idea.
-
If you rolled a 20 sided die 38 times you would have varied results every time even though there is an equal chance of getting each number.
-
6 or 7 last words, I hate handcannons so you can imagine my reaction 2 thunderlords, multi tool and Plan C 1 of truth, SUROS, dragons breath, and Ice Breaker
-
I feel that way too sometimes, for me it's TLW I've seen it drop way more than any other exotic (shard it every time).
-
I do agree with you that it does not feel truly random. However, this is not proof, nor will we likely ever have proof.
