When is this vote for national marriage equality that I've seen about on Facebook? I'm guessing later today or tomorrow.
When is this vote for national marriage equality that I've seen about on Facebook? I'm guessing later today or tomorrow.
There's no national vote. The case of marriage equality is being heard by the u.s. supreme court. So what's going to happen is lawyers are going to make oral arguments, both for and against marriage equality. After a week or so of hearing the case made by both sides, the judges of the court will debate and discuss between themselves. Usually it takes about a month. Aftet each one has decided, they vote. Majority rule decides the outcome. Either 1) marriage equality is a constitutionality protected right, and same sex marriage becomes legal nation wide. 2) same sex marriage is not a constitutionality protected right, and each state decides if it will be legal for that state. 3) no vote held, court doesn't rule either way. Hope this helps.
