This summer I want to get lean. I'm not really fat or overweight I just don't want to be so rough around the edges. What's the best way I can shred the little extra weight I have?
Btw I'm 6'1" and like 188 lbs.

Same stats as me. Before I started lifting, I weighed between 145 and 150. But you're not here to gain weight. Simplest way to do this is to count your calories. Use an online calorie calculator for this - you'll have to enter your body info and it will spit out a number of calories that you should be ingesting every day. Now, the numbers are a very general guideline - it won't be absolute. First, do you have a fast metabolism or a slow one? If fast, keep that number you get. If slow, decrease the number by at least 500 calories. The main goal is to burn more calories than you consume. That's how you lose weight. The simplest way to burn calories is via cardio. Running, using an elliptical machine, anything like that is your best option. I recommend Couch To 5K as a training program. Of course the goal is to burn more than you consume, so you may not be able to run for as long as you need to when you start. That's when you can do walking or just anything else that burns calories.
