Fighting games were better when they were in the arcades. Players weren't "professionals" but that didn't mean there wasn't competition. Everyone would strategize against individual styles instead of spamming the same combo. Each match looked and played out much more differently than the previous. Nowadays, players go into an auto pilot pressing the same combo and button combinations with the exact same timing. They wait for their small windows to execute the same combo and then lay back waiting for the next window to burst the same combo again.
