My House of Wolves Livestream Impressions (good changes!)
When I first heard that Bungie was doing three separate live streams discussing elements of their upcoming DLC, I was a bit skeptical. But, after having watching the first livestream, I've got to admit, I'm very impressed. There was a bit of fluff, but with a show lasting almost 50 minutes, that's to be expected.
1.) Reforging weapons is a GREAT addition to the game. If you like the look of a weapon, or it's unique perk, you can just reroll and try again. Although it'd be nice to lock in abilities (for a price) as you get them, I'll gladly take blind rolls over no rolls at all.
2.) Upgrading old gear using mats we have an abundance of is a GREAT addition to the game. I was honestly beginning to feel punished as a player. Having 927 (NINE HUNDRED TWENTY SEVEN) Plasteel Plating is just ridiculous. To have the ability to use those for something -- ANYTHING -- is a very welcome change.
3.) Still on my wish list? Player trading. Do it World of Warcraft style -- people in the same instance should be able to trade with one another. No reason why I can't give the Hunter to my left, the same one who cleared an intense fight with me, a piece of gear that he can use. It's not fair to him (or me, should he get something I want). This trading idea will make players willing to help others (better sense of community) because they know that if loot is still on the table, they can potentially be "gifted it."
Happy with the changes outlined; they are steps in the right direction.
