That's not the point, the point is that people are making a huge deal about the dlc simply because there is no raid. Now they're using it as an excuse to say that the dlc will be utter shit and a waste of money.

Edited by The Mannikin: 4/21/2015 7:46:24 PMA lack of a raid is a lack of content. A -blam!-ing horde mode doesn't replace a raid please understand the difference. Horde modes of all types takes damn near zero effort in design vs a raid. And regardless of that people aren't ONLY complaint about lack of a raid, people have been complaining since release in September about lack of content, story, customization, and just all around things to do. The repetitiveness of Destiny has been the biggest complaint, and the replacement of a raid with a horde mode is like adding insult to injury. I'm not saying horde mode is a bad idea though, but that should've been there day -blam!-ing 1, games from 5 years ago had horde, zombies has been out how long? How many games have a horde mode? Being partnered with Activision it seems extremely unlikely that Bungie wouldn't have enough creativity and common sense to have thought of the idea already. Like I said it's not just about the lack of a raid, it's about the ongoing insult of reduced and stripped content.

First of all we don't even know if it's horde mode, so stop assuming things before they reveal it.

Edited by The Mannikin: 4/22/2015 3:36:19 AMYou say " first of all" as if u have 2nd and 3rd counter points to make but then you don't make them. I'm pretty confident the term arena refers to a type of horde mode since an "arena" is a closed off confined area(An arena is an enclosed area, often circular or oval‑shaped, that definition is str8 from Google like a pro). That said what would be your counter if in fact the arena is a type of horde mode?
-
Whether or not HOW contains a new horde mode remains to be seen so don't make an assumption just yet is all I'm saying. You and other people act as if horde mode is going to be a bad thing even though you haven't even seen it. I would argue that this whole game is a giant horde mode in a sense, we are killing waves of enemies that span across different planets. Let me ask you this, would you rather them release a raid that contains numerous bugs like TDB? At least observe or give the new mode a try before you dismiss it as being shitty.
-
I never said the horde mode was going to be bad, in fact I said regardless of how good it will be or not it still doesn't replace a raid, which is true as can be. It's not about giving them a chance. A horde mode is sitting in the same area, a raid is not. And yes yes yes this game is sorta like a giant horde mode, but at the same time it wasn't advertised as 1. Hence the outrage. 3rd, I would rather they release the raid as intendwd, no amount of testing will find the flaws as quickly as being played by 100s of thousands and millions of players. Period. Next time they should state they are delaying the release of the raid to further polish it. But they didn't say anything of the sort. They are going down the wrong path of trying to put bandages over wounds instead of preventing the injury in the 1st place. Idk much either way I'm done buying into their hype, om going to be that guy who buys their shit afy we ser months of reviews have backed it up. Keep paying the giving them chance after chance. It's too many games to be comitting all my hope and support to a franchise dev who doesn't even care enough to be direct on what to expect.

Very well I will make my other points. Second of all the OP's post is mainly about people overreacting to the new dlc and that is mostly because of no raid. Third of all, you claim that having no raid is a lack of content; not once did bungie claim that they will release HOW with a raid, it was you and other people's assumption that a raid would be released due to datamine leaks. How can there be a lack of content when it was never explicitly stated that there would be a raid. And lastly you searched up one definition of arena. If you bothered if look up the rest of the definition, you would realize that there is more meaning to it then just an enclosed area.
-
They have made claims about there being a new raid, no I don't feel like looking them up, but most were under the impression, and it wasn't because of data mine links. If they had no plans for adding a raid they had plenty of time to dispel rumors, but they didn't because they wanted to profit and capitalize off of the thought. I never said I had any expectations for the dlc, I never intended on buying it don't mistake my interest on the topic. They were vague on purpose to take advantage. They could've been crystal clear on the things to expect. This game s nothing as advertised, in e3 and all the trailers ate all overhyped exaggerated bs. Next my post is directly related to ops so Idk what your "3rd of all" is pointed at, it doesn't counter anything. And your "lastly", lol bro an arena is an arena, it's enclosed. Point blank. Not much is going to happen in an enclosed area except waves.
-
As I've said there's more to one definition to arena than just an enclosed area, don't tell me and others it's "point blank" when it's not.
-
They did dispel the rumors, they told us not to believe and rely on the datamine leaks.
-
Bungie told us many things, remember e3? Remember the the reveal? Remember the whole we have no idea what xur will sell and we have no control debate? Their credibility is next to garbage because of terrible pr.
-
If already know their credibility is Shit, why in the world would you believe that HOW would most definitely guarantee a raid.
-
I didn't nowhere does it say that I did. But clearly people are upset about it not having one (not me I wouldn't have bought it regardless) ; but the fact people are upset about the lack of a raid is valid, even if they didn't promise 1 they never sad it wouldn't have 1 either. When u do something an expectation follows. I'm pretty sure no would be making posts about the lack of a raid if they took initiative to dispel any thoughts of there being a raid and we're crystal clear on what t9 expect from jump. But they didn't because they prefer to take advantage of hype and false expectations. What about that are you not understanding?
-
What I'm not understanding is people flipping out because there isn't a raid. People can be disappointed, but as you can see from the forums, many posts are raging about not having a raid, which is unncessary.
-
Let's wait until we see what the two new game modes contain before we write them off or praise them. Yes I am disappointed that we won't see a new raid but I'm interested to see that there are two new game modes instead. We just don't know anything yet.
-
I'm not righting them off or praising them, but I am holding Bungie accountable. When u make promised, you better be prepared to keep them, period, otherwise you lose credibility. And at this point Bungie has lost alot of credibility in regards to destiny. The new game modes could be fun, but it still does t excuse an absence of a raid that was advertised especially without proper warning and feedback.
-
No raid was "advertised" for HoW though. Don't even bother pasting that data mined image. That's not an advertisement or a promise.
-
A raid was never advertised, still no-one has been able to prove this. I remember when I bought the season pass, all it said was The Dark Below and House Of Wolves and little else. Most people are using hacked images that were never officially released or discussed. They count for nothing. It's very much like the concept of cut content. Destiny has a lack of content I'll never dispute that but no-one has been able to convince me that the expansions were on the disc in full. In light of content downloads prior to TDB and HOW changing areas significantly it seems very unlikely that this proof will come.
