WARNING - Archon Priest Strike Broken After Patch 1.1.2
So apparently Bungie tried to patch the Archon Priest Strike in 1.1.2 without telling anyone and did it poorly. You can no longer snipe from above the Vex Waves spawn half way through the strike at all without risk of breaking the whole strike. I had read that you couldn't use the highest rock anymore so I wasn't even that far away. I was sniping from where you shoot the 4 goblins right when you first enter the area. I made it to the second wave just fine and then everything de-spawned and I had to go re-engage the door. [b]After killing the first wave a second time nothing else spawned and I couldn't re-engage the door, I had to just go back to orbit.[/b]
Just trying to make some other people aware so others don't have to waste their time like I did. After some more research a decent way around this is to just leave one enemy and run down there to kill it then sprint back up to the top.

25 RepliesMissing from patch notes: Fixed a glitch where the waves on the Archon strike always spawned correctly, causing the door to always open. A functional strike was not what we intended. The strike has been modified to bring it in line with the glitchiness of the rest of our content.

I've done it 6 times with the nightfall and the weekly. Try not going the scrub route and actually do it down below

Happened to me and a friend too it kept making us deploy our ghost to start it after every wave, we orbited then tried it again this time a little closer and it worked

3 RepliesIt's funny how before this was done, NOBODY complained about something which is a valid tactic. Now that something has changed, it suddenly becomes a "cheese". I will play house of wolves as I bought it at the same time as the other dlc, but after that I won't bother with it. Sick of being forced to "play the bungie way". They should just put you on rails and only allow you to shoot when a prompt appears on the screen if they want you to play in such a restricted way.

lol. I've never been on a FT that all sniped. did 3 NF's in about 45 minutes. (second one, the Priest exited the cell & never took one step away. 3 Horns +weapons of light melted him.)

I sit on the rock by where the 3 yellow bar hobgoblins spawn in the second wave and it worked for me doing it solo all 3 times.

I say it's a good change. Might actually have to work for your progression now. Or, keep spreading the cheese by leaving one enemy standing. Guess it depends on how lazy you want the experience to be...
