WARNING - Archon Priest Strike Broken After Patch 1.1.2

So apparently Bungie tried to patch the Archon Priest Strike in 1.1.2 without telling anyone and did it poorly. You can no longer snipe from above the Vex Waves spawn half way through the strike at all without risk of breaking the whole strike. I had read that you couldn't use the highest rock anymore so I wasn't even that far away. I was sniping from where you shoot the 4 goblins right when you first enter the area. I made it to the second wave just fine and then everything de-spawned and I had to go re-engage the door. [b]After killing the first wave a second time nothing else spawned and I couldn't re-engage the door, I had to just go back to orbit.[/b] Just trying to make some other people aware so others don't have to waste their time like I did. After some more research a decent way around this is to just leave one enemy and run down there to kill it then sprint back up to the top.     • Wait what? You can't snipe from the farthest rock anymore? Bungie should just write out in detail exactly how they want us to play, and which guns they want us to use so we'll stop mistaking this as a game were we make "Our own legend." Silly -blam!-ing me

    • It was a glitch, as stated by BUNGIE 3 weeks ago. Was unintentional, they stated they would never do a ninja patch and all patches would be in the patch notes. They are going to patch it. When you have one more vex there at the bottom. Have one player go in the valley and they kill the last vex, then the next wave will spawn and you can go back up to snipe. Do it all three rounds. NOW THAT IT HAS BEEN EXPLAINED, STOP BITCHING AND CRYING

      • This needs to be fixed. That was the one part of destiny I felt lived up to my expectations of pre-release. A hunter on a high hill sniping, Titan fighting in the mix, warlock in the middle taking care of things the Titan is missing, and reviving/supporting. With this addition, a small but of destiny dies.

        • i do kinda hate that they are trying to make it impossible to be a sniper though. i just broke my nightfall run by accident, didnt know about the patch. sniping is my playstyle, im a ranged fighter, support is what im best at, i dont like that bungie is telling people like me that i cant play my way anymore.

          • the strike is still broken trying to do it solo cause most of the ppl I play with aren't on kept activating the door got to the point where I couldn't even deploy the ghost

          • You can still do the cheese. If you leave one enemy alive and close on him and kill him in the main area the next wave will trigger. And cheese is totally valid for nightfall. Restarting that shit sucks.

            Just snipe from the old spot, leave 1 low level enemy left in each wave, go down by your ghost, kill it, next wave spawns go back up there. Repeat,.

            • Has anybody tried letting one person from the fire team (assuming you have 3) go by the door and then purposly Die. I would like to think that the downed player would act as a "place holder" so to speak. that way the other 2 can just go up top and Snipe them all then jump down and revive the downed team mate. Any Thoughts???

              • You can snipe all enemies but one, go down to the little bridge crossing and kill him and then go back up , it works I promise

              • All you need to do is have one person down their. You could also leave 1 or 2 enemies then have someone go down and kill them and it counts as a wave.

                It's not really a glitch.....its an anti-cheese tool IMHO. (Sad that bungie may pull the fix lol) [b]It means stop being a pansy and get down on the ground floor.[/b] [spoiler]Or you can kill the hobgob's, mini's, hydra's then wipe up the harpies/gob's when your done and not be a bitch about it.[/spoiler]

                • It's easy. Engage door, run back over bridge. Eliminate majors/bigger threats. Go back across bridge to the hobgoblin spawn and clean up. Repeat. That being said has anyone noticed a captain spawning up across the bridge? Happened to me and my buddy. Either that or he was really aggressive

                  • I had a captain spawn behind me coming down the hill where you take out the 4 or 5 vex goblins. I was like wtf.lol also happened on weekly heroic.

                  • Just have one person sit behind the rocks by where you release the ghost and have your others snipe

                  • I like it how it is, now those snipers get vex and fallen captains spawned right on them, makes the mission a bit more interesting. Its not a hard strike, or a hard part of the strike, get down there and blow crap up.

                  • Happened to me, seems you cannot snipe from the first high rock as you enter the area & also from the Ketch. Seems like you now need to be in close proximity to the spawns to move on.
