Aw man I know I read this somewhere...
Damn, I'm stumped.
My knowledge of Hunters is not exactly expansive.

Bonded pairs are formed when a lekgolo colony gets too large, and splits. They are sent in pairs because if one of a bonded pair is killed, the other goes berserk.

I thought the bond was made when you upgrade "spirit bond" for hunters in halo wars.
