Actually, getting it from xur is way more earning it that getting it from pure luck. I dont know what planet you live in, but on earth, luck is not work.

The problem is that coins are way too easy to get. Grinding for a weapon is basically pointless because xur sells exotics at cheap prices.

But thats YOUR choice if you want to grind. You could just get it the easier way. Doing raids and the nightfall is just trying your luck.
