HNNNNNGGGG.

DICE is taking out everything that made the originals fun like conquest and space battles.
-
I still think it's gonna be shit

DICE is trying to present the multiplayer as authentically as possible in relation to the movies. While I don't see this as bad, I can't say I'm not disappointed with what features we've lost to achieve this. It seems many of us were hoping for what was obvious: Battlefront III. Bots, Galaxtic Conquest, 3rd person, heroes, and the two eras we know from the films. Considering this game's release has been so long to come--and under a new developer--I can't say I'm surprised with what happened. The first two games were built on a different engine by a different developer who had much different resources than DICE does now. We have a new, powerful engine to run Battlefront on, and the technology to make in game models as accurate as possible. Additionally, being a different developer, DICE will obviously have different ideas. They went with a reboot, which is fair for how long it's been since Battlefront II. We could not hold DICE up to the expectation that everything would return--unfortunate, yes, but they had a different vision on what a next-gen Battlefront can be. The game looks beautiful and sounds amazing so far. Knowing DICE's opinion on putting bots in Battlefield again, I accepted a while ago they wouldn't return. With more capability to play online, this path seemed to make sense for them, rather than putting dumb A.I. in multiplayer. Kills a bit of the offline fun-factor, but oh well. The missions might be interesting. I AM surprised by what was brought back, including 3rd person and heroes. The 40-player doesn't bother me. After wanting to try 64-player Battlefield, I must say it wasn't as spectacular as I expected. A big count isn't always the best; it depends on the game. Plus, there is not as much chaos fighting bots compared to real players who know how to fire back. I'm sure Battlefront fits its new player count. Ground-to-space was hyped quite a bit and it is disappointing DICE didn't pull this from the scrapped Battlefront III. I can agree to an extent that there won't be much difference between flying in space or in atmosphere, but it was the immersion that made it great. I'm sad to see it gone, but I'm sure it'll pop up in DLC in some way. With the new movie coming emphasis is being pushed back on the original trilogy. While this focus is gonna make for a really nice game with great detail, I'm sad I can't play as a clone or battle droid anymore. The Clone Wars era was still amazing and fun; here's to hoping some DLC for it comes along. I'm gonna enjoy Battlefront for the game it was designed to be. It wasn't all that was expected, but it's gonna be the most immersive thing ever.

If you think the game is actually going to play/look like that..... Anyway, I think it'll be fun.

Looks good graphically but I wish they'd state what system (yes I know it's a PS4 sponsored ad but that means little) Tired of seeing lush looking games just to find out that those graphics are PC and not console.

-blam!-ing sick as -blam!-!!! I'm so glad these haters aren't gonna get it, they a bunch of scrubs that can't handle a good shooter

Christ on a cross you guys will bitch about ANYTHING. I'm getting this game day one, and unless DICE forces everyone to play as Ewoks, I am going to play and love the shit out of this game. 40 player limit is perfect IMO. 4 squads of 5 people roaming on foot, vehicle or air vehicles. Heroes are back! The planets are going to be gorgeous (and there have only been 4 confirmed planets, there will still be more). DICE blows ass at singleplayer, so I'm glad they are devoting more time to making the multiplayer badass. I'm perfectly fine with the game taking place during the original saga (Hell, we even get Jakku as a planet!). With the amount of BITCHING in this thread, I feel like I'm in the minority of the minority when it comes to being hyped for this game. I was expecting A LOT from DICE, and I am happy as hell for what we are getting. The only downside I can see is no space battles, but they might throw that in DLC or something.

Has anyone else noticed that DICE hasn't gone out hyping their game and giving out crazy promises? Game developers who get a big dick always end up with disappointing games. Example: Destiny
-
Dude I'm hyped... If it lives up to what they're saying its gonna be, I'm hyped. But I will NOT preorder anything until the last second.

Edited by Kone19ps: 4/20/2015 2:11:22 PMI've been so excited for this game but destiny guaranteed I will not trust this trailer or preorder. Combine that with DICE going downhill and I'm skeptical. They tried to claim hardline was as big as bf4 and it was basically a $60 mod. I heard it got rushed to give more support to Star Wars but who knows. Seems they are also sacrificing expansion for graphics. As far as I've heard there may only be as many or slightly more options than battlefront 2. Also no space battles. I will continue to look forward to this game but thank you bungie vision for permanently killing the appeal of anticipating it. Edit: I guess that's unfair plenty of the AAA games have done their part to ruin launch day Edit2: I know dice didn't make hardline but they supported it fully including the claims it was as expansive as 4

This one has more gameplay in it.
-
Halo is even deader now that it has to compete with shit like this.
-
It's been 10 years
-
It is basically a downgrade from SWBF II. No space battles, only 4 planets..., just the OT Era and no PT, no Instant action and no galactic conquest. Also, since it's EA, probably a lot of DLC. There's a lot of stuff missing for this to be an actual good game. I predict it will end like Titanfall.

Edited by WortWortWarthog: 4/20/2015 1:09:49 PMThose graphics though. At least they can only get worse from there.
-
Yes! I used to play this on PS2! I'm hype!
-
Looks very promising. :-)
-
Game will be awesome I think, can't wait for it.
-
I'm excited for this game but it brings me down to see the lack of content from the original games. I do like though Atleast jakku will be free in December. We may only be getting galactic civil war but I feel like if dice took everything from the older games, they could make it way better I really wanted to see next gen space battles and more features but I'm on the hype train and I hope you sir will be someone I will fight alongside with.
-
Everyone's freaking out because Dice is butchering this game. Meanwhile I knew it would be shit all along and refused to get my hopes up. Let this be a lesson to you kids.
-
I will wait to judge it until we get gameplay. We still have only seen in engine animations and nothing more. Right now it's just a very good animated Star Wars video.
-
Hopefully we'll get a much better look at it during E3
-
Wow, people are already hating on this game.
