I hate XUR. He ruins PVP
I'm not looking forward to the iron banner. Hell I might even go back to playing titanfall fort a while until people get tired of using the last word.
I think the exotic weapons you get from Xur should have one less perk, compared to the people that "earned" them.
Don't come at me with "Oh, but I did earn it! I worked hard for the strange coins." My response to that is. ..no..no you didn't. You could have easily been CARRIED through the weekly heroic strikes. You could have had a Bunch saved up from decoding engrams, doing public events. .etc.
The people that EARNED their exotics should have the better of the two. We grinded week after week in hopes of obtaining that of which we seek. We did our nightfalls, we did six runs of crota each week, we got the gorgon chest on our characters, We played countless Vanguard ROC strikes and we played countless amounts of PVP matches and when we FINALLY get it, We feel great...people who "xurn" stuff can't say they earned it. It fell into their lap.

Hey there, So you're tellin me, you've never bought, not once, a weapon or armor peice from Xur? Nice Armamenatarium, "Xurned" that? My point is the Weekly is usually harder than the Nightfall, no Burn, LightSwitch, etc. So getting it from Nightfall is less of a Challenge, getting it out of Crucible is random, doesn't mean you're even good, I've seen Exotics drop all over the board from Worst to First so that's an invalid argument. Now do you have any other arguments? You mean to tell me Red Death, Hard Light, MIDA, Suros all get sold and you didn't buy even one? How about your first week of Destiny, a strange noodle faced, shady character shows up with all Yellow gear, a gun, and an Engram, and you didn't buy anything? Or your second week? You can't tell me you honestly believe you are more deserving than anyone else? You bought the same game we did, you run the NightFalls and Weekly Strike, all of this is done, by you, and the community, religously, each week. You are not by any means, a better player, or in an exclusice club, no matter the way you obtain Exotics. You go to work to Earn the Money tovbuy Destiny. You play NightFalls and Weeklys and get Strange Coins for payment, you spend your money how you wish. The community will do the same with their Strange Coins, as will you. So now, where do we stand?

5 RepliesI "earned" my exotics as you claim I have all of them(Xbox anyway). But your argument has a huge flaw in it... You assume that just because a person bought something from xur they were most likely carried through the weekly, well as a 32 I do most of the carrying in weeklys so therefore buying it from xur would be earning in your own words. Oh and decoding engrams for strange coins come on lol that's so inefficient I would say you worked harder than someone that did the weekly if you got 9 of them. And honestly dude the gun doesn't make the person it's the other way around. If you can't beat some scrubs with a virgin last word like honestly what are you doing in crucible in the first place?

so you're basically just a collector? why play destiny with its RNG as it is and say that you grinded to get a weapon, u didnt grind shit. u played a game and got randomly rewarded. then when xur sells an item that most ppl have anyhow and u feel the need to come here and say the usual crap that all the collectors say. time for u to go play a different game.

In this case you "earn" strange coins largely by completing the weekly. Then you save those coins and spend them on things you can buy with them....in this case an exotic weapon or armor. If you consider RNG as being "earned' then do you consider winning the lottery also "earning"? In other words would you say "Hey guys guess what I just earned the lottery!"? Or would you say "Hey guys guess what I just won the lottery!". Also your logic against what I said above.......um well you destroyed your own argument since there are many people who received an exotic weapon from a blue engram dropped by a lvl 4 dreg. Your logic says they "earned" their weapon meanwhile you stated that when completing the weekly you "could have possibly been carried through the weekly". Therefore since this is a possibility (however unlikely) you did not earn your strange coins. By your logic you probably didn't "earn" your copy of destiny. Did you purchase it with your own money or did you find the money lying on the ground to purchase it. If you found the money lying on the ground then by your logic you earned your copy of Destiny....however if you worked a full time job and saved money from that job to purchase destiny then you didn't earn destiny...therefore your copy of destiny should come with locked content that you cannot use simply because you took the "easy way out" and bought the game with money from your job. TLDR: You are an idiot. Please go back to school and learn about basic economics so that you can understand the conceptual difference between "earn" and "random luck".

2 RepliesAnd how did you get yours? A legendary engram from a patrol mission? A lucky roc drop? A lucky crucible drop? Did you get carried through deathsinger/crota? Did you get a Gorgon checkpoint given to you? Did you get carried through atheon? Did you get carried through nightfall? Did you get a lucky drop from the heroic? How about from the pit chest pre-patch? Did you farm rocs until the cryptarch package came then get it from a legendary? None of those are hard to do, in fact most of them are easier of just as easy than doing the heroic. [spoiler]and yes, I did "earn" my TLW. I completed confluxes, oracles, and Templar to get to the Gorgon chest. [/spoiler]

5 RepliesI am amused by the concept of your imaginary people who only do weeklies and then wait for Xur to sell the equipment they want. "Xurners" play the game and grind as much as anyone else. Then, when Xur happens to sell something that hasn't dropped for them yet, they use the coins they've received during said grind to buy it. Also, The Last Word has been sold plenty of times. It's not rare, and I sincerely doubt there will be a massive influx of players using it in the Crucible. Finally: What is the point of whining about Xur now? He's been here since the start of the game. He's part of how the game works - if e wasn't here you'd be whining about drops you haven't gotten yet instead - and don't tell me you've never bought anything from him! We all know you have. Either deal with it or move on and play something else.

However it is possible to Xurn something earning something with the random generator is flat out impossible. I'm afraid to say that this post is a lie. The only way to actually fairly earn an exotic is to do an exotic bounty. I got Thorn from a bounty and bought Red Death from Xur. I think people who run the Weekly on 30 usually do work for what they earn and are rarely carried through. Removing a peek from Xur items is just flat out ridiculous.
