Netflix's Daredevil has been out for a few days now. I'm almost done watching it. It's....good. It's certainly better than Ben Affleck's piece of shit portrayal of the character. The opening scene reminds me a lot of Hannibal.
I really love Vincent D'Onofrio's portrayal of The Kingpin. He seems calm at first, and his rousing speeches almost makes you believe he's a sympathetic character. But then....he goes and decapitates a Russian mob boss with his SUV's passenger side door. -blam!-ing brutal. And you never know when it's coming!
Charlie Cox makes a WONDERFUL Matt Murdock, but when he puts on a mask.... he's just kinda.... shitty? It's an origin story and all that and he's not quite a super hero yet. Fine. I get that. But he's constantly getting the shit kicked out of him! It gets tiresome to watch after 11 episodes. I know he doesn't have super powers like Hulk or Thor but for -blam!-s sake it took him 11 episodes to say "Gee... maybe I should get body armor instead of wearing black sports apparel?" -sigh-
Other than some of those minor gripes, it's a solid start to what will undoubtedly become a great series. It finally does Daredevil justice.
What does The Flood think about it?

Matt is supposed to get his ass handed to him. That's the appeal of the modern version. Like batman but without the money, blind, and with an on/off ninja girlfriend who keeps dying and getting resurrected
