Players may not be "owed" anything. At the same time Bungie is not "owed" deference when they fail to meet expectations.
At every step since launch there has massive disappointment in the amount of content made available. First people like you said, "chill just wait for Crota's End". When CE dropped you said, "Stop complaining we are getting a whole new raid which is way more than CoD DLC".
Now you're back justifying lack of content yet again. And sadly trying to include tweaks like extra vault space or the ability to show your helmet as actual selling points even though they are the sorts of minor adjustments that should come with the regular free patches.
Destiny having no raid in HoW is the headline for every single write up after info was released. It wouldn't be if that weren't such a big deal.
You are welcome to bury your head in the sand all you want but the number one issue people have had with this game has been lack of content (both from consumers and critically). That's not a coincidence. All these people aren't wrong.
Despite what may or may not be technically owed, this is yet another instance of Bungie producing a product that is vastly underwhelming for a lot of people. Your attempt to flat out dismiss that fact is ridiculous.
