Seriously guys you're just acting like little stupid brats at this point. Hear me out before you rage about this.
Fist of all, it is your fault that there is no new raid at the release date of the expansion. Remember how you bitched about CE and that it is too short and worse than vog? And don't forget all those exploits, almost every area of the raid was cheesable. You don't want this for the new raid right? You also want a better raid with more mechanics and better encounters and that is what you will get, but Bungie can not just shit out better content in this short period of time, they can't just bring better things in the same amount of time it took them to create the Crota's End raid.
Secondly, you don't even know how the arena mode is going to be. Have you ever played Halo ODST firefight mode? No? Because that was one of the best fps experices I ever had. Maybe you will like this even more than a small 100% cheesable new raid. Also remember how you bitched about that there is nothing pve oriented in the game that keeps you playing? Well maybe this arena mode will be the thing you were looking for.
Now think about the good things. You will get a much better raid later this year. You can upgrade you old legendaries. You don't have to completely relevel your exotics. You're probably getting a better story and pve content. There are more paths to the new level cap. Who knows, maybe they will buff vog and ce to the new levelcap.
You all got what you asked for and yet, all you can do is to bitch about Bungie and how you're leaving this game. Go ahead, leave Destiny, but never ever again tell them that they're not listening.
Edit1: I would like to step a little bit back from the "it's your fault" argument I've made. I know Bungie -blam!-ed up a lot, BUT they're trying to fix it. I'm just saying that they are not screwing us intentionally and pushing the raid back is the best for us all. However, the amount of people being butthurt is too damn high. I tell you this though: If you buy a dlc without any informations about it and then get upset because the dlc does not mach your expectations, it's definitely your fault. Don't pre order I guess.

I Agree with you completely.bungie does listen to community and there was to much problems with Crota's end raid that they don't want to rush it as they did previously.the whiners wine when not listened to and also when listened to.there will always be haters on such a big community. But that won't stop me from enjoying the new content.

So, OP. A question if you will. You say it's our fault for there being no Raid, and it's the fact that we bitched over CE length, no PvE activities, etc. that got a new Raid axed from House of Disappointment. So then, going by your logic; all the people who bought the game, funneled money to Bungie by purchasing the Pass based on their reputation... they should just be happy with lack of content, innumerable bug/glitches in those very same Raids? The fact that Bungie can't fix an issue without creating a whole host of new issues, we should just be happy and accept that? Or how about upgrades? The fact that they arbitrarily released an upgrade for weapons that not only allowed them to have a slightly higher attack rating, but then set you back (possibly by weeks worth of time for multiple weapons) due to Bungie wiping out your forward progress? That should be OK? Or how about them setting up arbitrary roadblocks to player progress and advancement just so that we wouldn't chew through their (very) limited content, thus increasing the time necessary to be spent in the game, which makes 'The Dark Blows' look like it has a lot of content, when really it's pretty damn threadbare? We should have just shrugged our shoulders and accepted a product that is the exact opposite of the game that all of their marketing (even all the way up to launch day) said we would be getting on that disc? They might have axed a Raid just because we were bitching. But I don't think 'House of Disappointment' is anything more than came with 'The Dark Blows', and I think that Bungie knew that if they released an obviously half-assed attempt at a Raid like they did with 'Scrotum's End', there would be a very quick mass-exodus from their game. People were already leaving, sure. But we haven't had any. any player population bragging numbers from Bungie in months. I think their player populations have finally hit that low point that Bungie realized that it finally cannot afford to have any more players leave. I think they finally see that another debacle, any more of the bullshit that they've been shoveling at us for eight months... well, they can't afford any more mass-exoduses from this game. Or at least, they can't have it happen and still expect Activi$ion to not "acquire" and then dissolve Bungie in order to recover the losses that they're taking. I think they yanked the Raid as a way to try to say that it wasn't done (even thoughwe know from data miners that it has been doine for quite a while), that it "wasn't up to their standards", as a way to make us think that they actually care. No, OP. ActiBungie yanked the Raid to redesign it. To (hopefully) add more to it. To make it an actual Raid, not a strike where a whole team is reduced to support players for one guy with a sword. They're trying to keep this game alive, but finally the numbers work in the players favor. And those numbers say that they can't afford to lose any more of us. So in a way; yes, it is our fault that there's no Raid. But we are very, very justified in our howling and screaming tirades over the lack of a product that Bungie tried to push off on us. If you pay for a product based on its advertised value/content (as we all did with this game and in our purchases in every other industry on the planet), then you get a product that has next to nothing that was advertised to you, then you have a reason to not only bitch, but to bitch loudly. Maybe now we finally got the ear of that bag-of-smashed-assholes named Bobby Kotick. Maybe finally we got through to Acti$hit via the only means we had. Player population plummeting into the 4th circle of Hell thus reducing their revenue by a toxic amount. Maybe now they'll give us the product that they said we'd get all those months ago.

I disagree about the firefight being awesome, it didn't give anything in return. I want to earn more things from this arena mode not just survive longest...

Edited by FL NIGHTMARE: 4/15/2015 5:05:15 PMSo my issue is giving that credit for pushing back the raid to "make it better" can you show me where they said this
-
Nothing was ever confirmed for how... They said everything was place holders and could be changed. It's your fault for believing in all the rumours and speculations.
-
This is so true it's painful. The Destiny community is the biggest group of ingreatful assholes I've ever seen
-
I'm fine with the Battle Arena instead of a raid, so long as they do it right. Hopefully there will be multiple game modes, Arena only gear, and some kind of in game competitive leaderboards
-
I really hope this Arena is insane. All I know is ghorn and ruin wings will kick ass if its a ODST styled gameplay.
-
The Raid to be released later this year will be an exclusive. It was mentioned in the initial release of HoW information
-
Let's see, according to figures released by Bungie, only 20% of active players do the raid. Bungie focused on PVP and raids far more in the first seven months than PVE. PVE players leave in droves for lack of content, same ol' same ol',,,,,,,,,,no thanks, can only kill Valus, Sepkis, etc. so many times it's numbing. Bungie has elected to try and save 80% of its' player base by pissing off the elitists 20% raiders. Smart business decision, if the PVE content and excitement is there.
-
Your right.
-
It's nobody's "fault". Bungie made a smart decision to take their time and make a raid that will prove to be a challenge and that strikes fear into your heart. Thank you Bungie.
dumbass
-
Nother puss talking about halo and its amazing online experience. Get off your knees you fanboy. Bungie done messed up
-
If someone needs to get off the high horse, it's someone who thinks that a small vocal minority had an impact such as removing a raid from an expansion. This isn't the same as something minor like adding vault space, this is major content. He reason had nothing to do with the players, but more than likely something on their end.
-
I was disappointed at first, but I gotta agree. I'd rather not get a new raid that turns out to be a joke like Crota's end
-
Well said OP
-
Exactly!
-
Respect###
-
Finally someone understands that bungie isn't trying to screw us over intentionally and that HoW might actually be fun
-
You're right they're too scared to release a new raid since everyone complained. CE wasn't great but I'd still rather have a new raid to do
-
-
Odst firefight had zero replay value it was fun for a couple weeks. Raiding is what made destiny unique if you were playing on consoles. Yea I agree that everyone was complaining and unfortunately Bungie has been listening to all the self entitled cry babies so congratulations to everyone on the forums for ruining a game with lots of potential.
-
Nailed it.
-
He/she has a good point
-
I never complained about CE and every time I've seen some cod zombies dbag post about how this game needs a horde mode I responded saying that's a stupid and boring idea, don't think it's my fault
-
Thank you. Someone understands.
