Honestly, I feel as if though the Prison of Elders is going to be a breath of fresh air for destiny. The Crota raid was a disappointment and VoG got stale after the first few times. Four alternating arenas with objectives is going to allow for a constantly changing and interesting survival/arena experience. Plus there is going to be some sweet new loot drops and bosses included. It's like a raid that changes every week! Personally I wish it was 6 player survival instead of only 3... But either way I'm exited.

Can't wait for the reveal, I'm gonna miss it so I hope someone puts it on YouTube tomorrow night.

I'm actually looking forward to this DLC looks like it's bringing a lot more to the game. I find it hard to get into raids based on rl stuff so will be good to get a end game mode that looks pretty interesting
-
Yessss thank you. Finally someone who's not whining "no raid" still. When we finally get something new and totally different in this game people wanna whine and ironically everyone has been whining since day one about there being a lack of content and saying we need new stuff.
-
Catering to scrubs and introverts. Diminishing the possibilities for new, complex mechanics. Glorified strike. It's a lazy cop out for programmers who would rather pvp.
-
At least there's going to be a lot to do each weekly reset
-
It's like a really delicious fish
still flops
-
I just want it not to have weekly lockouts
-
Can anyone tell me how much the new dlc will cost? I've been away from destiny for too long
-
But what if it isn't as good as a raid? Maybe you shouldn't say that it's good just like how ppl shouldn't say that it is bad. Maybe you should practice what you preach?
-
Actually I hope you are right, yet people will look back on VoG with pleasant thoughts perhaps.
-
I'm looking forward to it...plus it looks like there are hive in there too so lots of enemies not just fallen....can't wait for somthing different to play lol
-
Will rewards be good for completing this? If not I'll just go back to roc strikes.
-
Haha how all those pve babys cry because there is no raid and the few pvp players just sit back and laugh because they will get the most badass looking gear and be 34 too. I never felt so happy about a DLC. And i thi k arena will be awesome too.

I've got high hopes for Prison of Elders. I really hope it's something unique and refreshing that will be different each time. I enjoy raiding for gear and weapons but after a while it gets to be a chore doing it over and over. If PoE really does mix things up each week and it feels like something new every time you play it then it will probably end up being my favorite game mode. I'm at the point I have to really work up the desire to run Crota hard mode twice a week to chase a Crux drop. Can't wait to be done with it.
-
I think the best part is it will be random every encounter so developing one specific strategy won't work you actually need to be agile and good at the game. #NoCheeseForTheRats

I Agree. I believe that this DLC will be for one much better than the previous DLC and two much easier to find a group of actual friends. If you're like me and only have 2 other friends to play the game with this is great news.

I'm hoping that like the nightfall there is a rotation of maps and enemies. You know multiple levels of the prison, with different enemies on each one. Would be nice and help keep it fresh. Also I know if prolly wouldn't happen but after the dlc drops for a bit, I'd love to see random new bosses just thrown in as a surprise. Instead of having the normal boss for the rotation throw in a random one we've never seen before. Would be pretty dope.

It all depends on how the progression works. Is there a limit to it? How far can I progress in one week? Is it like Nightfall where if everyone dies, you start the entire thing over or the Raid where there's a long cooldown? I haven't watched the stream (if that stream has even happened yet) so I don't know anything about it besides the fact that the vendor is awesome.
-
I can't wait. A new game mode is just what Destiny needs imo. Oh and a auto rifle buff haha.
-
Agreed 110%
-
Think so too
-
Except only half my group can go together >.<
-
Honestly I'm all for it even though I haven't seen it yet but they probably should have given a full explanation on what it is. As far as raids go vog was amazing I actually liked that it took me months just to get full 30 hear instead of Crota where I had 3 level 32s before the hard raid came out I had all the normal weapons the 2nd week and had all the hard weapons the 2nd week and got the crux on the 3rd week. That was a huge disappointment.

Edited by albinomachina: 4/29/2015 4:01:03 PMFrom my experience with Firefight in Halo 3: ODST and Reach, it gets really boring, really fast. The only people that should be looking forward to Arena Mode are the ones that are either too incompetent to finish a raid, or don't have enough friends to form a six man fireteam. edit - one of the few things 343 did right was to replace Firefight with Spartan Ops or whatever it was called in Halo 4. I prefer stuff with a story over endless waves of enemies.
