Honestly, I feel as if though the Prison of Elders is going to be a breath of fresh air for destiny. The Crota raid was a disappointment and VoG got stale after the first few times. Four alternating arenas with objectives is going to allow for a constantly changing and interesting survival/arena experience. Plus there is going to be some sweet new loot drops and bosses included. It's like a raid that changes every week! Personally I wish it was 6 player survival instead of only 3... But either way I'm exited.

I agree

Looking forward to shouting fireteams mates for dying, just hope its for teams of six, could be great fun especialy for people who arent keen on raids or pvp
-
I agree with you about a breath of fresh air and am excited about it. This forum is full of angry hate-mongers who aren't happy with anything. I admit I get that way sometimes but my posts are mostly positive. Cheers
-
Fire fight was a lot of fun so I hope this is at least as good!
-
I hope it's like a conflux horde, you have to poor a massive amount of ammo in to enemies while still defending numerous areas with a boss every so many rounds...also I would hope they would have a weekly event for equipment equivalent to what raid equipment would be. Only concerns I have are how they'll work matchmaking and if it will be optional
-
Should definitely be fun, but like many have said there's no dynamics. It's shoot shit until you die (which is great) but I enjoy learning a fight and having to coordinate in order for it to work. Not the the last two raids were really that 'dynamic' especially with all of the cheeses. I'm hoping the next raid is actually challenging and NOT buggy. You should have to have a solid team in order to complete a hard mode raid, not be able to PUG them so easily. Still excited for HoW nonetheless.

I'm so glad Bungie is doing this, easy way to weed out the whiners
-
Personally in any game I have played with any type of horde mode I have hated it.
-
It's been done before. I hope it's something totally new and blows all of our minds. Zombies got boring after a week. It's more repetitive than any raid so I hope it's not just some bland survival mode.
-
The new arena activity in The Prison of Elders is exactly what Destiny needed. Something totally new, something special and unexpected.
-
I love raids but hord looks sweet bring on 6 player hord and that would be good thankfully with hord most of the time my raid team there is usually three on at any given time
-
Everyone is calling it survival mode, it may or may not be. If it is, I agree I would have preferred it to be 6+ players. It could be fun, but I'd personally have preferred an actual raid also, but I shall see.
-
Some of my best gaming experiences have been on survival modes. CoD zombies, MWF 3 spec ops, gears of war horde. Even though the theory of a horde mode just sounds monotonous and boring, they seem to have the most replayability of any game mode I've ever played (for me at least) What will be the determining factor for me is the add variables within (loot drops, increased defense options the farther you get, the variations of enemies throughout the "waves") I love the idea of finding that one spot in the map that I can call my own, fortify it to my liking, and slaughter any enemy that tries to take it from me. I loved the raids but I have hopes that I will enjoy the arena even more. I will withhold judgement until I'm actually able to experience it however.

Ayy elbow

I just hope there's matchmaking. That was the biggest pain back in ODST...
-
The real question remains: Will there be matchmaking?

Edited by CrudeDude: 4/14/2015 4:16:40 PMAlso 3 is way better because finding randoms to play with really sucks and wastes time
-
I'm open to something different and maybe it'll be really cool. I just wish it was 6 players for the sake of the group I play with.
-
I bet you know all about it, when do you get a chance to play it? Any footage you can link? Any hard evidence details that Bungie has released? Also, don't get your hopes up, 3 people in this mode means everyone has to pull their weight, and I don't see a player without a single level 30 and not a positive k/d on any game mode with any character pulling a team anywhere besides down.
-
I like the idea of the arena if it is a horde still mode against the fallen... But i don't know if it's going to work as it's supposed too, with the new levelling and the drops it could turn out to be really repetitive and get boring very quickly due to loot drops... Also the fact that it's only 3 player is the biggest downside, it means splitting up raid teams into two separate teams and that sucks...
-
VoG got stale after 20 times? And you still don't have a 30? Please.
-
Do you think it'll provide rewards like armor?
-
Yeh break the monotony with horde mode. More diversity in the choice of repatition, patrol, a strike or maybe a horde mode shooting gallery session. Cant think of a mode more repetitive than horde mode, there is enough of that in the story missions.
-
You have 6 raid completions... Maybe you should play some more raids before you bash them...
-
No it won't. Trial of champions in wow was the darkest period in the game.
-
Yeah doing survival for hours, and hours, and hours, and hours........wait wasn't the issue that content was repetitive?
