How do you know if it would be great?
They didn't get anywhere close to the VoG with Crotas End.

Yes true but the very best thing in the game is VoG, without a doubt. And after the admitted fail of Crota I expected a raid much in the vain of VoG. Instead nothing. Or a 3 man fireteam strike. Well played bungie. Really wish I wouldn't have bought the season pass.

Where are people getting this comparison from? Just because you have a three man fireteam, arena mode automatically becomes a strike? It's a different end game. Another mode on top of the raids, which may become more relevant if the hint of upgrading raid gear is legit. At this point, in a game where you're the same three activities over and over, surely a different game mode is better than what may or may not be a half decent raid?
-
I disagree. A shooting gallery will always be less of a challenge than a puzzle filled raid. And 3 man fireteam? That's just lazy.
-
I feel a progressive challenge is always better. Trying to pass that next wave is as much of a challenge IMO. After a couple of runs of a raid, it becomes a chore rather than a challenge. That's not to say that the arena won't be the same, but at least it's a different activity.
-
The VoG was a progressive challenge. A horde mode is mindless shooting. I can't understand why there wouldn't be both. But good luck in the future bungie.

The first time you ran it. Then you knew what was to be done. Every enemy wave will have something different (hopefully). I might be looking too much into it and the game mode could be terrible. But at this point, I'd rather have a different mode altogether, than have to run three raids instead of two every reset.

And after the first completion in the arena you'll know what to do. It'll be a bigger mess than Crota. Someone will solo it first day using a g'horn.

That's why I put the (hopefully) lol I realise how bad it could be. But right now, anything is better than having to Run the same type of activities over and over. It's something new.
