Our team has been humbled by the reception of Raids in Destiny
Blame no one but yourselves community. This is NOT the fault of Bungie.
I'm excited to see what The Arena has to offer

Can you share a link to the original article from where his quote comes so I can see the context? Because as a stand alone phrase I take it to mean that the reception has been amazing and exceeded their expectations. Which in turn would make it even harder to understand why they took the raid out of the expansion.
-
I take it as a lot of bitching and whining was done about glitches. So I presume they are getting it RIGHT before they release it?
-
As I recall, they were the ones obsessed with the glitches. Crota is shockingly glitch free as it is, actually. But oh well. It is what it is. No amount of griping will alter this decision.

Edited by raveun2me: 4/13/2015 11:28:17 PMHouse of Wolves will not have a Raid activity. We didn't make this decision lightly. Our team has been humbled by the reception of Raids in Destiny and we are creating a new Raid for a release later this year. House of Wolves will have a new cooperative end game activity focused on variety, replayability, and skill – a new battle Arena called The Prison of Elders.
-
Thank you! So as I thought they are aware of the fact that the raid is an almost unanimous favorite activity among players and still won't include it. I just hope I don't have to pay for it whenever it does drop.
-
Later this year is the statement. Comet is supposed to be out in 2016? I think? Keep in mind we (xbox) have all the timed exclusives coming to us this fall that we won't have to pay for :-)
-
How can you seriously be defending Bungie right now?
-
Edited by TommyG: 4/13/2015 11:35:05 PMBecause they released a statement about actual new content and not just a rehashed raid for you to get bored with after your 100th runthrough? It's a completely different activity. One with a progressive challenge hopefully (if it's horde mode). How can people not look forward to it? Are people seriously getting upset because they can't repeat three raids every week instead of two?
-
Yes the majority of the Destiny community had been looking forward to a new raid. I'm not saying Arena can't be good cause it can, but for Bungie to not put a raid in just to release one with the next DLC, which is Comet, so players are forced to buy it if they want to raid is ridiculous.
-
They said later in the year, no mention of comet. I'm hoping the raid will be the filler between this and Comet. But for now, we're getting a completely new game mode (in terms of what we already have in this game) and by god this game needs it.
-
The raid they mention IS the Comet raid. It's a cash grab for people who want to raid so they have to buy Comet to raid. They said HoW will not have a raid. Even if there is a stand alone raid there isn't a doubt that Bungie will charge for it and then charge for Comet. Honestly don't you get sick of paying for DLC thats so minimal in content?
-
TdB was a disappointment, yes. If, in the next few weeks it turns out we're getting the same type of content, then sure, it's probably the last bit of money I invest in this game. But I'm allowed to be excited for what is a completely new activity to break up the grind of the same stuff every reset.
-
When did I say you couldn't be excited? Hey if this content makes you happy then I'm happy for you. It's just that a vast majority of the community is quite upset that Bungie would actually take out the best part of the DLC.
-
Why not?
-
They keep blatantly disregarding what their community wants and then say they are releasing a new raid later in the year, which would be with the Comet DLC. So all these players who have been waiting to raid will have to pay even more money just so they can play the game. This was 100% Bungie's fault and is just another cash grab.
-
Its hard to please a community that is bi polar with what it wants. If Xur sells a weapon half the community has, people whine. If he sells something decent, the community explodes with hate. Let them experiment with the game a little, if you don't like it than go play minecraft or something.
-
What does Xur's stock have to do with anything? The fact is that the community was wanting a new raid and has waited months for it. Finally this DLC comes out and Bungie says "Whoops sorry no raid but just wait to buy the next DLC so that you can raid. Doesn't that sound great?"
-
I brought up Xur stock to support my point of the crybaby community. Everything one half of the community wants conflicts with what the other half wants. There is going to be another raid before comet, at least according to the article that has this communities panties in a bunch.
-
People complain about Xur just to complain but when it comes to actually buying something with money there's a huge difference. And where did it say there would be a stand alone raid? All it said was a raid would be released later this year and from that it could mean with the Comet DLC which means once again you'll need to pay more money.
-
So quit. You won't be missed #Angermanagement
-
Where in my post was I angry? I've been playing Destiny since the Alpha and have defended Bungie time and time again but this is the last straw. This isn't anger it's disappointment. Disappointment that a game that started with such potential could fall so low but if you're too ignorant to see that then so be it.

Im not taking the blame for glitches in these raids. They're great, but i hope the next one is polished more than a golden turd
-
The raids were not so glitchy to the point that you couldn't play them. A lot of you exaggerate beyond belief. Too much whining and crying from kids ruined it.
golden turd
See what I mean
