Okay, I admit this is going to be kind of like a blog, but I can also propose a question along with it, so you've been warned.
Today for my Principles of Funeral Management II class instead of having a normal lecture, we had a class trip to a company that makes burial vaults that caskets are placed into when a person is buried. (Not always, depends on the rules of the cemetery as to whether a vault is required.) But anyway, we got a tour of the warehouse and saw the various types of vaults in the different stages of being made. It was cool, but what was even better was getting to see the crematory that was there. We got a close up look at the machines used for cremating bodies, and for a bonus a body that was just cremated, but still in the machine. For a little involvement, they gave people who wished to volunteer turns in sweeping the remains out of it. All in all, I really enjoyed it, and got some pictures out of it that I took on my phone.
Now that the blog part is over (my immediate apologies to those that I bored with my account), did you ever go on any interesting trips when you were in school? If so, where was it? And did you enjoy the experience?
