SORRY FOR THE HUGE WALL OF TEXT. Don't read it if you don't want to. If you are smart and want to gain another point of view on the situation, feel free to read it all. I would hope that all guardians that want to trash talk read this beforehand. I want logical arguements, not stupid, meaningless name calling.
Before I start this, I would like to clarify that I have every exotic weapon in the game (INCLUDING GJALLARHORN) available on xbox. I have used every weapon and can say that icebreaker is my favorite.
I am sick of gjallarhorn elitists on here thinking that they are so much better than everyone else. They kick players out of groups and tease them about it. It really isn't funny or cool. For all of you special snowflakes out there who don't want other people to have what you have, get a grip.
Gjallarhorn isn't as OP as people say it is (for pve it's good but not godly, for pvp truth beats it by a longshot[better tracking+bigger blast radius]). Gjallarhorn only gets targets down really fast on a solar burn nightfall. Other than that, it really doesnt melt bosses as fast as people say it does. Truth is a very close second to gjallarhorn. Its tracking is much better and the damage is fairly close to gjallarhorn's. "Oh but Wolfpack rounds are sooooo goood!" Yes, they do a lot of damage. However, Truth or Hunger of Crota can pretty much do any job that the Gjallarhorn can (eliminate the target). Personally, I am fine with doing the strike for 2 minutes more if I'm not using gjally (it doesn't really make much more of a difference than that). If I don't have it on me in a strike, I'm not going to switch it onto my character with the app. It's not worth it. It's not necessary.
Gjallarhorn is situational as hell. You use it for bosses, and even then you can only use it when you have heavy. To get heavy, you have to get lucky and find it or spend 30 minites on a weekly heroic strike to get strange coins to buy heavy. People say that you can run a whole strike with Gjallarhorn. Sure it is possible, but what kind of moron would do that? It would be more challenging to deal with the reload and finding heavy than just doing the strike normally.

Now on to the common complaints about Xur selling Gjallarhorn.
1) "Everyone will have it so it won't be as awesome!"
You special snowflakes out there need to think about how childish you are acting. It is a gun in a videogame. Who cares if you have something? No one. Everyone bought this game and has the right to enjoy it. If this means getting gjallarhorn, then everyone has the right to have a fair chance at getting it.
2) "It's going to get nerfed!"
Come on guys, really? Bungie nerfs guns because of pvp, not pve! Gjally is good for pve, not pvp! Duh!! Vex mythoclast was nerfed because people were complaining about getting killed super fast by it. Soon enough, felwinter's lie and the last word will also be nerfed! When people complain, Bungie feels the need to interfere. So why doesn't Bungie nerf guns for pve? BECAUSE THE ENEMIES ARE FREAKING COMPUTER GENERATED! THEY DON'T COMPLAIN! Why is this so difficult to understand?? Therefore, Bungie doesn't feel the need to nerf guns for pve. Also, I don't hear any of us complaining that it is too op in pve. Hmmm I wonder why... oh yea, it is because people like it the way it is! Get it through your head; BUNGIE ONLY NERFS GUNS FOR PVP.
EDIT: People are mentioning the AR nerf. If you were keeping up to date on all of those articles, they nerfed ARs in pve and pvp only to make more people use pulse rifles. That's why they had all of those graphs. It was NOT because ARS were OP in pve. They never were. Imo hand cannons have always been superior in pve. Anyways, the point is that guns aren't nerfed in pve because they are OP.
3) "Xurners didn't earn their gjallarhorns!"
Again with this special snowflake bullshit.
Earn=work
Luck=luck, not work
People who buy guns from xur actually earn them, because they did work to get those strange coins. People who get lucky didn't earn it at all. THEY JUST GOT LUCKY! "But you have to do a raid to have that chance, so you are working." Not all the time! My friend asked if I could give him the gorgons cp. He was a level 23 and had no experience. You know what I watched him get? GJALLARHORN! It pissed me off and it would do the same to any of you. Xurners are earners, most of us, INCLUDING MYSELF, got lucky enough to get gjallarhorn. Also, what about all of those poor souls out there who have put 500+ hours into this game, AND STILL HAVE'NT GOTTEN GALLY?? Don't they deserve it? Everyone should have a chance to get it. I got lucky enough to get mine at 520 hours, but many people aren't as lucky. They deserve gjallarhorn. By the way, gjally isn't off Xur's loot table. He will sell it, and when he does, I will be there to congratulate all of my friends who bought (EARNED) it.
4) "It is going to break crucible!"
You guys obviously haven't experienced the might of truth. It is a force greater than gjallarhon (pvp). With its superior tracking (I have seen it wrap around walls) and it's huge blast radius (wipe out several enemies at once), gjallarhorn cannot compare. "But Wolfpack is so op!" Not in crucible. Many of them run into walls or the floor and don't hit the enemy. I have survived Wolfpack from gjallarhorn many times. Besides, they don't do nearly as much damage in pvp as they do in pve. The masses of people who do try it in crucible if xur sells it will be disappointed, and will switch out that exotic for something much more useful (truth, the last word, thorn, etc.).
5) "Everything will be so easy!"
Why is this even a complaint? Isn't it better to get things done faster? Nuff said there.
EDIT: Some people are saying that it would make crota too easy and that you like a challenge. All it does is help to ensure that crota goes down. Do you guys enjoy wiping or something? Is that your idea of a challenge? A world where crota doesn't always go down seems more annoying than challenging.

Also, for the next raid, who knows what will be a key weapon. For atheon cp, it was icebreaker (to all of those who say "but gally downs atheon is 17 seconds!" please be more realistic. You know you don't do this every time you fight atheon). For crota cp, it was gjallarhorn. For the next raid, who knows what will be good! I personally think that it will be thunderlord. Fallen tend to have arc shields, and everyone knows that one of the best arc weapons is thunderlord.
EDIT: A lot of people are saying that buying guns from xur isn't as exciting as getting it as a drop. If you are one of these people, then don't buy gjallarhorn from xur when he sells it! Buying guns is a CHOICE! If you prefer waiting to get lucky enough to get it as a drop instead of having a guaranteed way of getting it, go right ahead and do that. However, this is no reason to not want xur to sell it.
EDIT: People are saying that Xur isn't random so they are keeping him from selling ghorn. He definitely is. They randomized it before the game released and planned xur to sell those guns in the order they appeared after being randomized. After megaman figured out the plan, they had to randomize it again. Ghorn is still in his loot table and will be sold.
The gjallarhorny fools out there are just going through a phase. It will be over soon enough. Xur should and will sell Gjallarhorn eventually. Try not to cry too hard guardians.
TL;DR- Xur will and should sell Gjallarhorn. It is not OP in pve, it is beat out by truth in pvp, it will not be nerfed if it is sold by Xur, people who buy it from Xur will have earned it, and the special snowflakes out there need to get a grip.

I waited for my Ghorn, you wait for yours. Just imagine a big line of people waiting to get their Gjallarhorn people waited maybe a day or two others waited 3 months, people made friends and people made enemies in this line. When you first got the ghorn you were ecstatic, a sense of pride and accomplishment rushed through you like a stampede of wild gazelle. Now you just waited for your friends to get one as well, you never really knew when it'd be their turn but when you'd see that yellow text pop up next to a friends name man were you hyped for your friend, screams at the top of everyone's lungs were heard throughout the party chat, Almost brings a tear to my eye. Well I was going for a line metaphor but what I'm saying is, there is no satisfaction of getting something through Xür, like those gazelles we talked about earlier, where are they? I can't even make an unfinished metaphor about earning something through Xür, does everyone really bank on getting everything from Xür? I don't see that as being any fun. Sure it's RNGeesus blessing only a few but I'm sure everyone will at least get one, eventually. If it really isn't that good as you say it is, why just not host a raid yourself and invite those you think suited enough to play a raid or PvP instead of joining a bunch of pretentious assholes? Welp, that's all I got. Call me a snowflake if you must. All I'm saying is earning it is better than Xür-ning it. Waiting every week at 2am on a Friday is going to become very old, very soon. In not saying Xür isn't going to sell it but if he does it's gonna be a while. Bungie has full control of his inventory now, don't you think they'd want those still searching to play a bit longer to keep their servers a bit busy?
