I would like to see a new market established whereby we are given the ability to exchange any materials we already have for other materials we need. This market would have all of the materials in the game we need for our gear available for purchase. I don't know how difficult this would be to institute but I know the amount of planetary/weapons/armor materials I have is getting ridiculous and I would like to be able to do something with them. I believe this new market would encourage players to grind more as we would have a more direct way to obtain the materials necessary to level the gear. I think this would be a more enjoyable grind than what we are currently used to.
Vote and tell me what you think.

When HoW first dropped and we were all looting the shit out of the Wolves Chests, I was discarding spinmetal by the hundreds. Over that two week period, before they stupidly patched the loot chests, I probably discard 2000 pieces of spinmetal. Still can't discard ammo synth, though.

I remember back when we could exchange our materials for rep and marks. I kind of miss those days. Would rather have that then exchanging materials for more materials to clog up my inventory.

Bump in the name of love.

Who wants a new market? Do you?! How about you?! You, too?!

Edited by BoomerSooner51: 6/10/2015 4:04:18 PMWouldn't it be nice to have a market for all materials? Give me one legit reason this isn't implemented. Because the grind would be easier? Say it ain't so! EDIT: FFFFFUUUUUCCCCKKKKK the grind. Right in the ass.

You guys filled up with special ammo synth yet?!
-
Yes please. We need to be able to turn in Materials to the Crucible or Vanguard Quartermasters again for Marks and Rep. Hopefully at the same exchange rate as the current "Marks for Materials". Also we need a place to trade in ammo synthesis, possibly at the Speaker for Motes of Light or Glimmer.

Well, we all had hopes that the barely mentioned material exchanges coming with HoW would address this need. And sadly, they were dashed faster than going to Master Rathole and getting your daily "bag of dicks". The ability to exchange "anything for anything" can be implemented successfully if the "exchange rate" has some logic, ability to fluctuate over time, is flexible, FAIR and reasonable for the majority of players. Even having to cascade exchanges to get to the rarer materials would give us a chance to upgrade our hard won stuff. Between my 3 characters, I calculated how much ascendant material I needed to upgrade my legendary armor and weapons...at the time of calculation, I needed 378 ascendant shards and 260 ascendant energies. At my usual rate of acquisition, it was going to take over 1 year, to get it all upgraded. Since the intro of HoW, the HoW legendary gear is better (in most respects), to the original and DB legendary gear and does not require ascendant material to upgrade. So "Why bother? They will all upgrade to HoW stuff anyway." But anytime a needed material's acquisition is limited to specific gameplay activities, it isolates and alienates those who do not participate in that specific activity. As an example, I do not enjoy the PvP activities, so I do not have the opportunity to purchase the Crucible gear. Come on Deej - add a Spike to the Dev Team's next sprint to investigate determining a fair exchange rate and establishing a new vendor - "FatCat" who can handle the material exchanges. Even if the data supports 1000 Spinmetal to 1 Ascendant Shard, I would pay it! This doesn't even get into the concept of Player Trading, which is a whole other sack of monkeys with hand grenades! OR (gotta bitch while I can!) the exit of the Crota Knights who used to entertain us regularly. I feel like the DB expansion pack (which I PAID for) has been nerfed. Overall Bungie, you guys have done a great job with an extremely complex product! I still enjoy playing, but, as with any product, there is always room for improvement that is customer focused and customer driven. Thanks! SFBG 01

I really would like something like this.
-
Come on, homies. You know this is going to be a problem again after HoW drops!
-
I believe with a properly adjusted exchange rate, this would be an amazing success.
-
I think they need to bring back the exchange materials for vanguard or crucible marks. Because as it sits when was the last time anybody has seen high levels farming for spin metal
-
Destiny needs to grow it's content. Stop worrying about damn PVP crap.
-
Any word on if they got the new exchanges up and running?
-
You know who sucks ass? Hanson. They suck ass.
-
You guys remember that song "Back Dat Ass Up?" That was a hella good song. Made them white girls shake they ass.

House of Wolves mate

Dumb idea. If every material can be exchanged for another type of material, there is no point in having more than one material.
-
I still would like to see some market for my 2000+ planetary materials I've squirreled away. Vault space and character space is filling up with these materials. I may have to start deleting them soon. Sure wish I didn't have to...

They have this when HoW drops
