I really want to try out the persona series but there are so many different games and so.e games are a different style i don't know where to begin

I'd actually begin with Persona 4: Golden. It's the most accessible to newcomers as well as retaining what Persona is all about. If it turns out that you like it, then move on to Persona 3: FES or Persona 3: Portable. Then you can play the others if you still like them after that.
