See I really liked 7/8, all the moody teenager stuff aside. Which wasn't a huge deal for me because I was in my early teens then anyway. The stories of those two games, FF7 in particular, we're awesome
Aeris dying was an incredible moment in gaming, especially for that time
I actually didn't like 9, it was too Japanese for me. Same thing with 10. I didn't like 13 at all either; too Japanese and I wasn't a huge fan of the combat system plus I felt like it was super linear (along with 10; I was used to 7 and 8 where you've got a bit more freedom to move around). I tried 14 out and kinda liked it but even the combat system in it is a bit slow for me. I never played 12 though

 • Just wanna say, RE the spoiler... There's like zero drive with current games story lines to have plot twists of that calibre. In this game for example, The Traveller was " planned " to end up being the true evil antagonist. But then they fired the storyboard guy, so, yeah. I'm waiting for a main character ( you care about... ) to die, or a major plot twist. All of the current gen is bullshit. I can't even find a game I want for storyline anymore.

Dragon Age Inquisition has some solid storytelling in it, although nothing like the plot twist from FF7 or like the one in the first KOTOR. I just don't think they struck gold on that one in terms of the story, but it's still pretty damn good. Bioware games generally have solid stories and can contain pretty awesome twists (KOTOR 1 for example). Same thing with Mass Effect 1 when you first meet Sovereign. I'm just hoping EA doesn't dumb them down too much for the next Mass Effect though. I can't say I have a whole lot of hope for many other game developers though. I'm hoping the next Fallout/Elder Scrolls game returns to having a solid story too
