Ok so it's not a grimoire issue but has been present since pretty much day one......precision kills do not show up in the mission summary screen.
I for one would like to know how many I get.

Although it's a long way to do this, you can use websites like destinytracker.com to check your precision kill stats and more. Thankyou for the pointing out the obvious. I am aware of Destiny tracker, the issue is with the mission summary not showing precision kills in game. I therefore do not wish to check an external site for something that has a place in game, but doesn't work and hasn't been working since launch. This issue has been mentioned a few times in separate threads and has gone unnoticed. Even though this thread is for grimoire issues, I thought it may be the best location to make it known. Especially as a Bungie employee has pinned this thread recently.
