The singleplayer is worse than BF4. Every character is a cliche and the gameplay has completely thrown own rational thought, common sense and reasoning. One of the worst singleplayer games I've ever played. In multiplayer I love the damage model and just how fast you can take down enemies at range with assault rifles. Some SMG"s are desirable alternatives as opposed to their counterparts in other Battlefield titles. Battle rifles need attachments that you unlock after 100 kills which is pretty annoying given the small arsenal of the game but they are extremely fun to use once you can actually fire it in full auto. The Netcode feels solid and on par with BF4 even with the faster time to kill.Snipers are extremely powerful but the map design has effectively made it harder to snipe in general. DMR's are fun to use as well. Shotguns are complete and utter tosh because they can't outgun some of the assault rifles and SMG's in close range coupled with inconsistent spread. I'm still not a fan of armored insert because of the inconsistency it brings and just how it allows for so much more damage to be taken. Carbines are completely useless and why nobody at Visceral thought to put them on par with the assault rifles is beyond me when carbines and assault rifles are operator exclusive weapons. Also the syndicate assignments for unlocking weapons are complete bullshit. I have a score per minute over 900 and I currently have a 2.94 k/d ratio and I have never gotten one of the ten tier 4 upgrades needed with each class to unlock the weapons. That needs to get patched because if a player like me can't even unlock the syndicate weapons then almost nobody can. Visceral does not have any clue what statistical balance is because there are weapons for every class in both factions that are far superior to their counterparts in every way imaginable which is insane considering Hardline has a tenth of the weapons BF4 has. At this point they might as well have gotten rid of most of the guns in the game because of how overshadowed they are. We are taking about guns that hit their minimum damage after 14 meters competing with guns that hit their minimum damage at 40 meters with more fuking damage per bullet, less recoil, better hipfire, better firerate. I don't even know what happened but somebody wasn't thinking. Seems counterproductive the asymmetrical gameplay. Maps are cool and interesting. Not a fan of the inconsistent destruction. The game modes do make up for the low map count because switching game modes on a map brings a completely different experience. Hot wire has turned into carpg simulator and no longer has fun car chases. But my biggest complaint about this game is that it feels like something to hold us over until Dice releases Battlefront. They didn't execute the theme well and they made the game so unbelievable that it's mind boggling. They didn't want to take any risks with the battlefield name and they left things in the game that don't fit the cop versus criminals world. They don't really distinguish between the cops or the criminals either aside from just handing them a different set of guns. In all honesty the game is a watered down version of BF4 and should really be considered more of an expandalone than a full game because $60 (or $110 if you want 3 useless guns the devs are keeping from you) is too much for this game. Unless you're absolutely dying for more Battlefield or something to play during the summer drought I can't recommend this game, which kills me to say because battlefield is my favorite franchise.
