My battery tanked today, and I have no idea why. I always use power saving mode, keep brightness at about 1/3, and only use these forums and Google throughout the day. Any suggestions?
Note that my phone is a galaxy s5.

Turn it off

Make sure you let your battery die all the way before you charge it. When you charge it, dont take the phone off the charger. Extends battery life a lot.

The forums kill your battery. That's probably why. It's unavoidable.

Turn off bluetooth, gps, wifi, auto sync, and the "scanning always availible option" for your wifi when not in use. The weird thing with wifi here is that it is almost always checking to see where you are to assist with gps functions. If you're looking for an app, I suggest "Deep Sleep Battery Saver" which puts your device in a "sleep-like" state while the screen is off meaning that it will do what it usually does more intermittently than it usually does.

Go into your setting under battery and it should give you a chart showing what uses the most battery power. If nothing looks usual make sure it is charging properly at night. Sometimes, for whatever reason, they don't get a full charge.

Turn off Bluetooth. You'll save about 7% of your battery every use.
