Nothing of this sort goes on at my school, but my 8th physics teacher had a strange story for us from his school days:
Science class is doing the sodium-in-water experiment. A small amount if sodium placed in water will explode violently. This kid took a freaking BLOCK of sodium, went to the bathroom, and dropped it in a toilet.

Actually, no. WARNING: SCIENCE AHEAD [spoiler]As caesium has a far greater atomic mass than sodium, an equivalent weight of caesium would have less atoms, as each atom weighs more. Thus, fewer atoms react, and there is a smaller explosion.[/spoiler] Also, I'd say that that kid's karmic punishment was rather harsh. Having flaming molten sodium simultaneously melt and explode your face off is never pleasant.
