Has anyone played this "neverwinter" game that's free to play on Xbox one? Is it worth it? Do micro transactions leave it worth paying?

It's actually a very fun, involved MMO. While there is a cash shop, all of the equipment is level locked, so buying end game gear at level 1 does nothing for you as you still have to attain those levels before the equipment can be used. So, while its F2P, it's not P2W. That said, there's tons of content in this game.. Quests, item and equipment variety, professions, crafting, its a very good MMO that I highly recommend.

Amazing game if anyone wants to link up gamertag is same as name

As much as I hate to admit it, I'm having a blast playing this game. I've never owned or played an MMO (Destiny doesnt count) and always kind of thought they were lame. Well, I was wrong. I'm enjoying ranking my guy, and learning how to effectively use his skills, Ranger btw. Good.

If you farm astral diamonds you can trade them for zen. That's how I got my wolf mount. I call him Wesley snipes because he's so freakin black.....was that racist?
-
You rlly dont have to spend any money on the game at all, but they make some of the cash shop content look so shiny

always looking for friends to play with on here. I tend to do quests solo cause it's hard to match up with people doing the same thing but I would love a dungeon group! Im only a lvl 30 cleric but im gunna grind quests later. Gt is Oh Ninetales hit me up if you need a healer! add and reply here to lmk so I can add back.

Admin: "Frodo Baggins received Imperial Drake Mount from Tyranical Lockbox!" You'll see that spammed a lot lol. I love this game though. It's been a lot of fun.

Said it on another thread... Great game. Lvl 60 cleric. About 8900 gear score. Enjoying the ramp up in raiding difficulty as your gear gets better. Heard it's hard for dps to get groups late game due to lack of healers or tanks. But as a healer it's awesome.

I've been playing this game for a few hours over the past few days. I'm like level 11. I like it. So far I would rate it "good" because it seems a bit rudimentary but it has potential. So far no need for micro transactions but I am curious how that plays out in the end-game.

I love it! You don't need to pay money either. It takes a while but you can get most things without paying.

A question for none that knows I linked my E-mail to the Arch thing on NW for the free companion I remember it saying go to XXXX to get companion but now I've forgotten where to go and don't have a letter telling me where to go :/
-
Edited by Voraj: 4/5/2015 10:54:45 PMI jumped in and swore to myself that I wouldn't pay a cent. About three days in I dropped about 80 bucks because it was so much fun that I wanted to support the devs as well gain a few cosmetic bonuses, but nothing really gave me too noticeable of an advantage. It's fun. Try it out.

Edited by Falchion: 4/5/2015 5:31:14 PMIf it's still downloading, turn off the wifi on your phone and computer. It's taking up bandwidth lol EDIT: also, I played this game on PC. Eventually you will need to buy a mount due to the enormous world. A decent mount might take a micro transaction but there are mounts that you can buy with in game money.

If anyone is looking for a funny guild to join. (Dirty mike and the boyz) is where it's at
-
Good for a ftp Easy to level up practically no grind to level up lol Max level is 60 Only crafting takes forever Only stuff you pay for are clothes / mounts Doesn't take away from free content at all Dungeon queues take forever though Lots of content

I played with a friend for about 3 hours last night and the amount of content is INSANE for f2p from what I've seen. I have still yet to get a level 10 profession but I've read about it having 6-7. Mounts are in the game, but they are a long way away for me. Controls feel super fluid and I haven't even felt a need to purchase anything with microtransactions, but I might down the road if I really get into it. Seems super playable without spending anything. Having a ton of fun :)

I'm playing it and having only played a couple hrs so far I've seen no need for Micro transactions. It's a fun i depth and decent game
-
It's definitely a must for people that love mmos. I had a good time at low lvl but it gets so much better the higher you go. Harder missions and getting better skills for your character. I'm having a blast with it. It's got some great customization as well. As for the micro trans. I fall for that shit so I have spent some money on it but not much. I bought something that ends up giving you blue items in both weap slots, two ring and shirt and pants. It helps out a lot and doesn't cost that much real money to end up getting. Other then that I haven't seen too many people that look like they have spent money on it and it seems like they are doing just fine. The only place that I end up being better then anyone else is usually in skirmishes an PVP. I end up coming out as number one more kills and most damage dealt. Other then that it's been a blast to play.

It's designed well for a controller, so the combat feels satisfying, It gives you a sense of nostalgia about those old RPGs, the market is fun to merchant through, and the environments and music are great.
-
It's free so it's worth checking out. If you aren't into mmo games you won't like it. As for micro transactions, you can eventually purchase some of the bigger ticket items if you grind. It will take awhile but you can play the whole game without ever spending a dime. If I stick with it I may eventually purchase some zen (in game currency) just to support the developer but that will be down the road.
