Because if your decent you should be at least 31...I have no problem letting 31s into crota HM but 29s into VOG HM ...its SOOOO easy to get lvl 31 and if you don't have the skill to get to LVL 31 by now and your still 29..chances are you haven't even raided yet..at least that's my experience and yes..I do remeber running VOG with all 29s, hell I used to have 3 29s because back then 29s were excellent players mostly..just like 31s are also decent, maybe not as much tho as it was harder to get the VOG armor than it was to get the CE armor..anyways that's why I asked for 31+ cause most the time I don't have the time to deal with some kid who doesn't even know what a raid js and just bought the vendor gear

  • You say "by now" as though everyone got the game at the exact same time you did. Believe it or not, there are still people who just recently got the game. And as long as they're selling it in stores, there will continue to be people who have just recently bought it. So maybe it's not the fact that they don't have skill. Maybe they just haven't had it long and are having the same struggle that we all had when we were trying to get to level 30.

  • How does that invalidate his opinion that most experienced players are 31. New players aren't experienced. Inexperienced players shouldn't even be in a hard raid.

  • Maybe because you can be experienced in VoG normal and not be 31. Or even 30. Because that's how most people were before TDB came out -- running the Vault on HM at level 29. Remember how we used to complain about being "forever 29?" And so yes, you're probably not experienced in VoG HM if you're not 30, but everybody has to start somewhere.

  • Forever 29 is comparable to forever 31, not still 29

  • But it's not *still* 29 if you recently got the game... see my first post in this thread. If you just got the game and you're not level 31, it doesn't mean you can't play VoG HM. You can. It was made to be played with 29s and 30s. That's what this whole thread is about.

U can, but not with me. When I say 31+ on my lfg's, I try to weed out the people who just got the game and don't have a lot of experience. Not that I can't carry some inexperienced players, it's just that it's a hassle.

  • This is true. I was a new player in February and was able to hit 28/29 with vendor gear. But I started in VoG normal because that's where I could get good weapons and the Ascendant Materials to level them. I didn't attempt hard until I was comfortable with the raid and had maxed out a couple good weapons for VoG (Vision of Confluence and Ice Breaker). VoG normal can get enough materials for unleveled vendor gear fully maxed (to level 31) in two runs as opposed to endless farming of daily story missions and public events.

  • You realize that some people have lives outside the game right? It takes a while to get enough marks for all that gear to be a 31 on Vanguard alone. Now realize that most people aren't grinding 200 marks a week. The stats show clearly that actually a MINORITY (like ~20%) have even completed a raid man. Remember, you were new to the Vault at one point too. Someone had to lead you through it, or maybe you were one of those guys who went in fresh with a group of friends. My point here is that while you have ever right to only want to be with experienced people, but people can only get experience through you know, actually getting invites.

  • I'm not saying don't help them but I'm just answering the question on why lots of people put 31+ when they are looking for people..I have no problem helping out lower players...when crota notm first came out my raid group helped out a 28 and carried him thru..if i have the time in all for helping out those lower level players whether it be because they only play destiny once or twice a week or Are just simpler unlucky., im the last person to kick a guy simple because they don't have the right gear.

  • I wasn't trying to sound antagonistic towards ya bro. Awesome for you helping guys out though, I certainly love doing it. I have more fun helping new guys out and experiencing their wonder for the first time than playing it for the 100th time with experienced guys. I'm more addressing the larger issue of people saying it can't be done unless you're a 31. There's a very toxic attitude in the Destiny community that you must suck if you don't at least have max vendor gear.

  • Ya I agree there's a time for helping And I time for just powering through it and in no way am I saying we should judge people by there gear I remember being thankful when ppl let me into VOG as a 29 and now that I'm lucky enough to be able to wield sword with all three of my 32 charecters I try and help out others..I would agree with you in we shouldn't judge people based on gear But I think even you would agree there's a time for teaching people to use the sword and taking up at least 2h and then doing it in 20min

  • Of course. I understand wanting to do it in an hour tops vs feeling ok burning 2 because you know there's going to be more wipes.
