When we let 29s run the vault of glass, the vendor gear brought you to 28, showing that they have enough raid gear and experience to do it. Now the vendor gear brings you to 31, so there really isn't an excuse to be 28 or 29 anymore.

New vendor gear should've gotten people to 29 instead
-
Why? So new players would have to farm VoG for weeks before being able to do Crota? That may satisfy vets who think that new players should have to do the same "work" they did, but it falls apart when the max level is 38 and there are several tiers of raids.
-
Uhm. You can get carried through normal crota for level 32 gear at 29 anyways. If you didn't want to work that badly then you can have your friends drag you through. Maybe 30 would've been a good substitute, instead of 31 gear. But I think it should cost more for higher gear. It shouldn't be an instant gratification just to satisfy impatient people.

Edited by R merc G: 4/3/2015 6:34:07 PMIt's not about "instant gratification" it's about creating a cohesive progression system. If new players are a tier or more behind, it fragments the community. Vendor gear goes to 31 precisely so that VoG isn't required for new players and they can jump into Crota. That means the majority of the community is progressing in one raid rather than players being split between two separate tiers. If you don't like that type of progression, you're playing in the wrong genre. MMOs like World of Warcraft wrestled with this years ago, when big expansions erased the progression of several tiers of raid content, and the game was far more successful for it. Edit: You also can't design a progression system based on friends carrying you through content not designed for you.

Except for peolpe who don't have ascendant materials because they can't get in groups to run the vault so that they can get ascendant materials to get in groups to run the vault so that they can get ascendant materials to......
-
Do it on normal then. And farm public events and dailies. It's supposed to be progressive not an instant lvl 31.
-
Or you can dismantle legendary armor. Or do strikes. Or do public events. It's not like ascendant material is exclusive to VoG.
-
Not true, in lacking plasteel to upgrade my Titan would be a 31 by now but need like hundreds of the stuff
-
Something called roc strikes.
-
Something called a personal life
-
Are we talking about things you don't have still?
-
Haha I guess man
-
So you can get like 5 in an hour! So fast! So easy! HOW COULD YOU NOT!?
-
Excuse me? Calm your tits first of all. Second, you get a crap ton of blue engrams which you dismantle for the plasteel. It's way more than 5 an hour you twit.
-
Lol. Too easy. Maybe you should follow your own advice. Check out most of my posts. I'm very rarely serious.
-
If your considering yourself a good troll or whatever, that's great, but it's stupid. You honestly think id pay you enough attention to check your profile? Check your other posts? Really? There wasn't a hint of sarcasm in any of what you said anyways. You're a crappy wannabe troller, the annoying kind. :)
-
You throw insults and I'm a troll? So rude. Also, never claimed I was a troll. Just like to joke. If you don't get my jokes, sorry. I'll try again. But call me a troll? Nah, life is too short to be trolling.
-
That's great, I'm so happy for you.
-
Clearly you are happy about very little.
-
How can you tell?
-
Dude, the saying goes "Sad panda," not "happy at most times panda." But, seriously, I made a joke, you didn't take it the way I hoped, I'm not a troll, double rainbows freak some people out, and Charlie Sheen is Bi-Winning. That is all.
