Why 31+ for VOG?
Just as it says why? Do people not remember beating this thing with 29s?
Do people not understand a 30 does the same damage as a 32? In VOG
And before you look, i have 3 32s i just laugh at people not letting 30s or even 29s into vog hard....

My group has actually started the opposite. We make each other put our old vog gear on and play at 30. I almost forgot how nice the vog gear looks.

Yesterday my clan and I ran VoG 3 times to get a few people the clan raider trophy. It really helps to have VoG weapons! One 27, a 28, and a 29 (3- 32s) got it done no problem! I say it's more about team work than anything else

So the thing is you can get to 31 now with Vendor gear. Personally I don't think it is too big of an ask to have people invest some time and level up Vendor gear before raiding. I know that you can clear VOG hard as a 29 with no issues, but it is really so easy to get to 31 if you just invest a little time. You get Eris gloves basically for free so you just have to buy 2 pieces of vendor gear and 1 exotic from Xur you are good. Assuming you get level 30 gear from VOG you would just be replacing it anyway.

I think not taking anyone under 30 in, especially now isn't a big deal, no reason to take someone in that'd be at a disadvantage when you can easily hit 30 or 31. But requiring anyone be above 30 (especially 32 only) is crazy and not necessary. That said vault requires a lot of teamwork and being able to hold your own at times, where crota you arguably can have a few guys carry the team in each section. Basically do not do the vault via lfg/pug, especially on hard if you don't plan to play seriously. If you're playing with experienced people listen to them and don't just do your own thing.

3 RepliesI fully understand everything you said. However, the main reason I'm looking for 32s is because IN GENERAL a 32 means the person knows how to raid and likely has adequate weapons. At this point in the game, where you can buy your way to 31, anything lower than 31 either means noob or alt. I'll take in someone's alt if they know what they're doing and have proper weapons, but I'm sick of wasting time with shitty PUGs.

People judge on character lvl and weapons. My friend nearly got booted yesterday for being lvl 30 for VoG hard so he had to equip lvl 31 armor.

Destiny uses damage normalization, as long as you're of level you do normal damage, some people think 32 or 31 get some kind of damage buff.

because it's so easy to be a 31 these days, I can see why someone would want at least 31's in the party believe it or not, the biggest choke point is still Confluxes - a lot of teams of random players are STILL struggling at Confluxes and many still fall apart at them I still haven't done Relic at Templar, my internet connection varied and I get kicked a lot (Road Runner from Time Warner, it's not me, it's Bungie servers) - but I can do Relic otherwise if there's no one else - I'd just hate to get disconnected while holding it not a lot of people can do Relic at Gatekeeper and not a lot of people can Solo the gates - I can solo either hate as any character - now I main 3 Hunters so I have to be a bit careful, but I've been in a few parties where we survived by having only 3 people stay alive at the Gatekeeper lastly, a lot of people still don't call out if they know how to use a Relic, or which planet they are on, or bring in crappy I leveled weapons - I've seen people use Thorn and Last Word during Oracles at Atheon ... I'd think someone that's a 31 have done a few Raids and being on par with enemies will at least get them a chance to survive a sniper shot during the raid, vs insta-death as a lower level character and don't get me wrong, I've been the only guy that died with their 32 at Atheon or Gatekeeper while the rest of the team carried on and killed the boss with that said, I don't care what level you are as long as you know what needs to be done

9 RepliesAlso typically, yes I said typically so don't give give a retarded "but" or "what if" response, if a person is 32 or even 31 chances are they have better weapons because they have simply had to run Crota to get the gear meaning a better chance of having decent weapons.

On the flip side...everytime I have allowed a 28 or 29 into a vog hard, they always die and I always hear "Oh damnit if I was on my (level 32) hunter I'd be smackin' 'em." 30+ is reasonable though.

2 RepliesI remember when we first ran the raid with all 26s. 9 hours later and we couldn't kill Atheon. We came back later on when we were all 27 and 28s, and it was easy. People are just dumb.

I actually like people asking for 31+ , they are basically saying either they are impatient or incompetent which in both cases you'll just save time and headache if you avoid them , on the other hand groups asking for 30+ are either veterans or casual players and for me those are the greatest and most fun groups to play with. they won't mind you dying and will help you if you have any questions regarding any aspects of the raid. and you know the funny part is that these guys usually finish the raid faster. a great man once told me " git good or git rekt scrub"
