Our adventure begins two years later.
The original Exalin team has been pulled together by Del Fino Corporation aka D.T.Co. who has been contracted out by the Lenny Sovereignty. Due to high security measures D.T.Co agrees to have their representative board the Exalin Teams Imperial Ship and debrief them. Boarding the Imperial Ship in secrecy the D.T.Co team is led to a board room where everyone is assembled. Four personal guards and a man in a tailored suit make up the D.T.Co team. The man in the suit begins the discussion.
“I am Mr. Del Fino,
"Exactly, three months ago on the planet Thorisis there was a small phenomenon associated with the planet Exalin. D.T.Co was requested to investigate and made some findings. A viral organism made it off the exploding planet and was transferred to the planet Thorisis. We were able to pin point it directly to an engineer on staff the Imperial Ship. The organism was able to annihilate an entire city, 500,000 lives were lost. We were able to contain the problem and all news coverage, was sequestered."
“Part of the efficient cleanup was due to our having an HQ on Thorisis. What we did not know is that Thorisis HQ kept specimens and those scientists began experimenting.”
He pauses obviously aggravated.
“There is a new specimen that has escaped and is now out of control. Considering your firsthand experience at handling situations like this our board and I have decided that it would be in our best interest to have Exalin Team clean up this mess. We need to contain this problem as soon as possible. You will be teleported into our HQ as soon as this debriefing is over."
“The specimen named EX5K is harmed by fire and afraid of light. It prefers darker environments and only comes out at night. The worst of the matter is the effect its bite has on humans. Its saliva has enzymes that react badly with human DNA. Basically turning people into rampant zombies. Eventually the people die, exploding like bombs and infecting the area around them. This only happens after several hours as the alien enzyme grows at an exponential rate within the human body. We do have an antidote, but it must be injected within the first 2 hours. There is success at 3 hours, but that is only a 20% success rate and supplies are limited."
“Once a zombie there is no going back. They are highly sensitive to light and sound. We have noticed that they have a diminished ability to smell, touch, and see. They can and do go out during the day.”
He clenches his fist at this point and continues with an even more serious demeanor.
“We do have a team at what is left of Thorisis HQ. One of our scientists that created the antidote insisted on staying to improve the antidote in hopes of creating a vaccine against the enzyme. This team protecting the scientist and holding these creatures and zombies at bay is led by a woman I am sure you are all familiar with, Zara."
“Exalin team will be joining her as soon as you are ready.”
He breathes deeply and asks, “Any questions?”
Poll had 7 votes for Freddy's idea. I'm a little surprised no one started sooner, but this was fun to write anyway.
"Good."
-
"I might... Forget some things though, I'm sure it won't be a problem."
-
Sighs in frustrations. Then mutters, "Hopefully you won't make it out alive..."
-
"I don't want you to leave this ship alive, I guess neither of our wishes will be fulfilled"

Edited by Python824: 4/2/2015 1:41:23 AMWell we would prefer to get through with the least amount casualties possible.
-
*loads shotgun* So we are at close quarters, right?
-
"Yes in many of the areas, although you would not want some of the zombies exploding on you at close range."
-
Alright. What if they bite a full on robot?
-
"They attack robots with extreme prejudice."
-
Ah so the only thing I should even remotely scarred of is explosions?
-
"And the actual specimen itself which populates fairly quickly."
-
Alright. Possible unextracted survivors?
-
"Yes."
-
Alright. *turns to PMCs behind me* Hear that? Watch your fire.
-
I... I dunno
-
"You must be the clone," he says with a dry tone.
-
I am indeed.
-
Mockingly he replies, "Glad you can be proud of that." He turns and walks away.
-
*Stays sitting That's a fat ass you got there sir!
-
"Vulgar and crude and wholly unoriginal. No wonder why she didn't stay." He says over his shoulder.
-
*chuckles Ouch. Well, if she really thinks that way about me, then why would she invite me to walk onto a planet and save her like the white-*censored*-knight that I am?
-
"She actually asked me expressly to not hire you people. This isn't an invitation, your exposable lives are at stake."
-
How so?
-
His face sours. "Sentimentality, oh wouldn't you like to know. I you people no longer have pertinent question to the mission itself I'll be leaving."
-
*grabs his shoulder* Watch what you say or I'll have your tongue for dinner on a silver platter where I'll wash it down with the fresh blood of a virgin
