So , first of all I'd like to start this post with a poll . Hopefully , if it gets popular enough , we will know the proportion of people who have it . So , as many of you know , whether you have it or if you saw reviews on youtube , the Necrochasm is shit . Let's not deny it , it's terrible . So in order to make this clearer , I'll separate this review in two parts : effectiveness and user-friendliness
EFFECTIVENESS
Necrochasm is a max RoF / min IMP auto rifle . This archetype is known for being one of the worst weapon archetypes in Destiny . Commonly referred to as "The Tickle machine" , it deals a minimal amount of damage per bullet . With 15 damage to the head and 12 to the body , you will need to score 14 headshots or 18 bodyshots in order to kill a guardian in the crucible . Knowing that it fires 900 rounds per minute , it might seem like an effective weapon .
However , weapons from this archetype tend to be very unstable and , even though necrochasm has one of the highest stability among this kind of auto rifle , it is still very had to handle and scoring consistent headshots is almost impossible .
Another problem is what I call the ATTK (aiming time to kill) , and Necrochasm has the worse ATTK among every single weapon in this game . What this means is that , for example , if you use fatebringer which has a TTK of 0.86 , your reticle doesn't need to stay on your target during the whole time , so it doesn't matter whether or not you move a little as long as your enemy is in your reticle when you press the trigger , which represents 0.5 seconds out of the 0.86 of TTK . Now if we take Necrochasm , it's a whole different story . If you want to kill an enemy as fast as possible , you need to keep your aim on your target for the entire 0.86 seconds . This means that if your reticle goes of by just a little , you will miss some shots . It also means that you'll have to remain uncovered when shooting at them , while you can take cover between shots with other weaopns . This will often result in a lot of bullets missed and your opponent and his allies will probably end you before you can finish him off .
Regarding PVE , you will encounter the same problems and a few more . For example , as we said earlier , its impact is abysmally low . This means the bullets are less likely to make your enemies stagger . If you shoot a a knight , he will probably duck into cover or simply dodge your bullets after you fire a couple rounds at him , even if you aim for the head .
This becomes very frustrating when you try to use it in high level activities .Considering the explosion perk , it simply is an underwhelming firefly . While the explosion is more powerful , it is delayed and the enemies will often be out of range by the time the explosion actually happens .
USER-FRIENDLINESS
With it's 76 , Necrochasm ranks among the best auto rifles in terms of reload speed . In fact , it almost only has perks which increase its reload speed : cascade and flared magwell . You end up with an auto rifle which reloads really quickly , especially if you finish your enemy with your melee , which is going to happen very often . Anyway , you're probably going to use the fitted stock perk instead of flared magwell since you can get the same result with the iron banner gauntlets .
Then in terms of magazine size , Necrochasm simply is a joke . Remember that good old Atheon's epilogue ? Well , it had a base 70 bullets per magazine and even 80 if you put field scout on . Necrochasm , on the other hand , has HALF of this . And by half , I mean 42 , which is just a little bit more than half . While it would be quite a nice mag size for a suros regime , it is just stupid for an auto rifle with 100 RoF . If we compare it to the original mythoclast , the other raid weapon , it used to have up to 56 bullets per magazine , which is enormous since it works like an auto rifle . In comparison , with its 42 bullets , Necrochasm can't even kill a knight with an entire clip to the head and , while you should technically be able to kill 3 guardians with a single clip , this is only possible if all of your shots are headshots and if you don't miss a single bullet . You will very rarely manage to get two kills out of a clip in PvP .
So , to sum it up , Necrochasm is an acceptable auto rifle , but it's not good enough to be considered as an exotic , let alone a raid weapon . This weapon is the rarest one in the game and it is supposed to be the most powerful one . Yet , it is easily beaten by legendary auto rifles of the same archetype , and basically by any weapon of any other archetype .
So tell me , what do you think about this rifle and how do you think bungie could buff it ?

I have the husk and the crux. The only reason I even tried for the husk is because the crux dropped for me. I guess I'm going to level it up just so I can have both raid exotics. I really hope Bungie buffs this gun. Why make it so weak? We're they scared they'd have another original Vex on thier hands?
