A Fireteam Disease is turning into a epidemic!
The update Bungie put in Destiny making the Weekly Heroic Strike matchmaking was a great idea. But sadly it has caused a disease, at first it was only in Heroic every now and then. But now its spreading to all the strikes!
This is a tragic outcome. I'm fed up with it now every ROC, every Heroic!
There's always one person that AFK farms the efforts of those of us that want to earn the rewards. This isn't okay, sure maybe they get removed for inactivity after a few minutes. But this isn't enough they know this and remain active but only just.
There needs to be a boot option! Yes I know "but a fireteam of two could just vote the 3rd out to make room for a friend"
[b]Well there's a easy solution for that, only allow the boot option if they have been outside of the Darkzone 1 minute after the others have entered.[/b]
It's enough stop letting lazy people reap the rewards from the effort we put in!
Spread the word, make Bungie hear us!

9 RepliesBe VERY CAREFUL what you wish for!!!! Yesterday I done the nightfall/daily/weekly. All went well, but another player started beating on me. I WAS KEEPING UP!! But knowing what was "coming next" I decided to change my "load out". It took a short while for the screen to "load"! Then the guy beats on me because I stopped for 30secs!! You people are starting to get f@cking paranoid! Stopping to change load out is NOT AFK!!! (whatever that stands for) P.S. I have done lots of strikes with random players (many of whom have become friends), and ,in the main, it works very well. PPS. you say ONE MINUTE!! Whats your f@cking hurry?? It can take LONGER than that just to use an ammo synth!!

1 ReplyAnd also for those noobs who try to go all Scarface in the weeklies. Im leveling up a new character and tried to do the weeklie on "very hard" mode and they paired me up with people of the same level as i, and dude this guy went all scarface with his auto rifle in the fist room and died after killing one enemy and also tried fist of havoc the nexus kept on dying every attempt. I just left the game

1 ReplyIt's easy for people to avoid being kicked back to orbit for inactivity. Now after seeing a video on YouTube when a guy rigged his controller to just shoot and melee I'm seeing more and more players sitting at the start of a strike running in circles, periodically dancing or switching weapons to avoid inactivity. Even if you manage to push them to their death they can re-spawn and continue, clearly AFK. Being able to vote a player out of the fireteam would be very useful as reporting doesn't feel adequate!

I had one in the weekly this week was a blast I forced the redrawn at the nexus and push him to the cave so he would be minatour bait every time he died I knew a mintour was behind me lol

Just have the boot option and no one else can join so that basically serves both sides of the argument.

2 RepliesHahahaha. They knew this was coming based upon all the vanguard strike reports of AFK but a lot of people was crying to have match making and still people ask for it on raids. Dumb dumbs. They ruined weekly heroics by adding this but I think it's mainly to take some complaints away from the heroic and nightfall being same raid. I say no to boot system yes to opt in matchmaking.

Personally I've never see one in weekly heroic I see them a lot in ROC strikes.

I haven't seen AFKers either. But you can always bring on friends or hit LFG, just like it used to be. Matchmaking doesn't stop that.

last time I did ROC Archon priest came up three times in a row. one guy AFK and me and another dude two manned it each time. no problems.. just relax and shoot stuff

I have yet to see a player AFK in a weekly, and run 3 a week.

I have seen AFK in strikes but not the weekly. More often I see people dropping out of the weekly at the spawn point, why join if your just going to leave. Sometimes you never get a 3rd player join or if you do it's at the end. I would rather the game take us back to orbit to find another player than 2 man the weekly and have the last player join for 1 kill. I don't know if voting out would be fair as some people would abuse it, kick you just before the strike ends just to be pricks. I would rather see Bungie actually do something with players with multiple complaints for inactivity.

The main problem with matchmaking, especially in the Heroic Strike now, is that people just constantly quit/restart so they can try and find a team of two that is almost at the end. That way they don't have to play through the whole thing. I have had it happen to me EVERY time I have done a matchmade heroic strike. People always quit right at the beginning.

Yes the boot option but raid matchmaking would be awesome for those who don't have a fireteam to play with.
