Tiny robots that can swim in the bloodstream and attack diseases may sound as if they belong in a sci-fi film.
But these so-called nanorobots are set to be used to treat a person who is seriously ill with leukaemia.
The lead researcher behind the innovation hopes the patient could be cured within a month - and has already successfully tested the machines in animals.
-blam!-. I'm not letting those little shits inside me.
-
Sigh....
-
didnt some chinese 17 year old student find this out?
-
-
YAY NANOBOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!! (i could have used those back in kindergarten)
-
Black ops 3 IRL confirmed?
-
Next nanobots will become part of every day life and make everyone pretty much super human via nano enhancements
-
Mind = Blown
-
Cool. Now we just need some that give us super healing like wolverine!
-
-
This is now true.
-
Probably won't tho lol
-
Next your going tell me a Senator from Colorado is running for president
-
But how do we get them out after we are cured??!?!?!?
-
Yeah, amazing little things... I did a project on them a while back. South Korea reportedly used them for a working cure of cancer FYI.
-
Cancer has a (kind of) cure that is a modified polio disease. It kills the Tumor cells and gives symptoms of the common cold to normal cells.
-
Even with accelerated trials... It will take years for FDA and the AMA to approve this as a treatment option.
-
Would be awesome

This is a very exciting thing. Imagine in the next 50, maybe even in the next 20 years everybody has nanobots in their blood streams. These nanobots can possibly add 50 years to every person's blood stream. Wouldn't that be grand.
-
I thought the Government wouldn't cure cancer/leukemia.

We already have little cells who swim in our blood stream and fight dieseases.
-
Organics and machines. The strengths of both, the weaknesses of neither.
-
YESSSSSS!!!!!! My friend was diagnosed with leukemia last year, I've been worried even though he's been doing good.

This could be the biggest scientific achievement since the moon landing. If this is fake it would be extremely offensive.
