I firmly believe that Bungie devised the Vex off of the Borg from Star Trek. They themselves said that the Vex are meant to "resemble a classic science-fiction machine race". Here is a list of similarities between the two: 1. Consisted of one mind, rather than individuals. 2. Assimilate planets and technology 3. Biological and technological components 4. Warp across star systems in an instant 5. Rarely sprint 6. Sole desire is to expand their species across the galaxy 7. Tactics based upon sheer numbers That's all I've noticed, but there may be more similarities. In any case, I believe Bungie based the Vex off of the Borg. The similarities are astounding and too noticeable to be dismissed. By the way, I never said this was a bad thing. I love the Borg. Thank you, Bungie. <3
