Weekly Update Feedback 3.26.15

This thread is for anyone and everyone to post whatever you want with regard to the weekly update. Questions, concerns, comments all welcome. Some quick highlights for those who want a quick read through about the vault space section of the update. Please note, this is not the entire update however: https://www.bungie.net/en/News/News?aid=12707
Update 1.1.2 will push the boundaries of your secure repository. The new dimensions will let you store twenty-four (24) ARMOR pieces, thirty-six (36) WEAPONS, and twenty-four (24) GENERAL items.

John Hopson is the User Research Lead at Bungie who can peer into every Vault in the Tower.

JH: Very few people have completely full Vaults, but a lot of endgame players are bumping up against the limits.

JH: 21% of players who are level 30+ have 4 or fewer free spaces in their weapon Vaults right now. Even at lower levels, there’s a small but measurable fraction of players under level 20 who have full Vaults.

M.E. Chung has heard you, and as the Live Team Lead

M.E.: Our challenge was to provide an increase in storage that fit within the memory constraints that limit how many items can be displayed on one screen.

M.E.: This had to be accomplished by a team who is simultaneously working on future content.

M.E.: We know there are a bunch of players in the world who don’t have enough space for Armor and General items. We’ll have a solution for you in the future.

UI Engineering Lead Brad Fish
FYI: UI, means User Interface for those not tech savvy.
BF: each modification to Destiny has the potential to introduce a variety of side effects.

BF: In the case of the Vault expansion, it became clear that we would be pushing very limited memory constraints

BF: We had a choice[...]We weighed the options[...]decided to move forward with the expansion by disabling the item comparison feature within the Vault on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Item comparison will continue to function within the Vault on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and in all other contexts on all platforms.
Personally? I think you ticked off more people with that picture of all the gjallarhorns in all 36 slots then the update. No worries though. I've got my own. And it's better then my rifle. 36 weapon slots will give me a lot of additional room from the 20 slots I currently got. Appreciated for that. the 20 armor slots I have are more then sufficient also for the fact I have one set of titan VoG raid gear, Queen's Wrath armor pieces, and a few other items as keepsakes of fond memories. In the end though, I'll gladly part with those ones if I could get upgraded versions. I always have a way of finding new memories with newer guns. With this update though, I do have something of an inquiry and that is what we can do to show support for upgrading key items of our inventories. Like weapon upgrades. Something to highlight people's dedication and familiarity with a gun. Take for example the weapon parts idea a few friends and I came up with. For XXX-XXXX amount of parts, you can upgrade a gun for additional damage. Fatebringer is a popular gun on the forums. 300 to 310 for 1,000 weapon parts and let's say 5,000 glimmer. The idea behind this is to not to showcase a possible gun evolution, but to highlight someone's dedication to a play style. Armor pieces can easily go the same way. So that's it for the inquiry. Now to a question. HoW release date is not the question. The question is actually a request for a puzzle. Back in Halo: Reach, there was a public posting made by Bungie. It told us of an unknown/yet to be discovered easter egg. 343 copied said secret formula in Halo 4 and is something of a mystery still. With HoW coming out, could you please do such a game again? Forum games are fun and all... but it's really fun when you tell us there's still clues to be found in the cosmodrome related to the Fallen or on Venus, but one such possible clue lies hidden in the Vex areas or something to that effect... Besides that? Thanks for the update. The next topic to be discussed so heavily? I'll guess: What endgame content players want more of. By that I mean more Cabal, more Vex, ect.. Destiny has a funny way of speaking to certain players about the mysteries of a particular race, least of which the fairly straightforward space turtle race for me, but that is exactly what nags at me... why the heck didn't the Cabal destroy Freehold and why are Barons running around on Mars in the first place?
