Hello and welcome guardians! This is your friendly neighborhood AnonPig and I'm here to share with you my ideal HoW raid! If you weren't aware the Fallen are actually my favorite alien race, and are by far the greatest enemy in the game. Now, from what we've all likely seen by now the raids name seems to be "The Arena" Which I personally find fitting for such a race. The Kell are supposed to be the highest form of nobility aren't they? So why on earth would they waste their time and fight you? Let's begin.
We enter the reef per the orders of the Queen. The Wolf Kell Skolas has escaped the grasps of The Nine and reclaimed his people. He has also reinstated Kaliks, the Wolf Prime Servitor, and found a new Archon Priest who I, for the sake of this desciption, named Niftiks. There is a Fallen Ketch in the distance. We board. The Fallen were waiting for us, ready to stop the fight right at the beginning. We fight our way through the most elite force of the Fallen, the Kell's Guard. edit I've had this raid in my head for so long and I've adjusted it slightly as I went, and in doing so I forgot to mention the detail here. Six Kells Guard wait for you. Once all six are defeated you progress, but progression without defeating the adds allow them to follow you to the next part. Adds continually spawn until all six guard are defeated, but stop spawning when they are.
We find ourselves in a large room, ahead the Prime Servitor Kaliks is hovering, watching us. We go farther into the room, and start to attack him. Once we deal a small amount of damage Niftiks drops into the room from above and begins to heal Kaliks. You turn your attention to Niftiks, clearly he has to be defeated first, otherwise he'll just keep restoring the health of Kaliks. As you turn your attention to Niftiks you find he gains a shield deployed by Kaliks. Which do you fight first now?
After we defeat the two of them the Kell realizes our power. He tries to lock us out of his throne room, the doors are beginning to slam shut and lock ahead of you. if you dont make it endless amounts of fallen pour in and you are lost to the hands of the Guard.
Making it through the doors, and not choosing the wrong doors that lead in circles, or even to straight dead ends. edit 2 ideally these tunnels wouldn't simply be the same every time. That would be too easy. Either ten variations chosen by rng at the start of the raid, or possibly pieces which get randomly attached at the start. Finding the exit keeps all the doors open. The spoiler shows why. end edit 2 You find yourself in front of the Kell Skolas. He stands to meet you. He raises his hand and beckons you forward. He's behind some type of protective screen so nothing can be done to him, but much like CE you walk onto a platform to begin your fight. He closes his fist. You fall.
You fall out beneath the Ketch. Skolas has one last trick up his sleeve, and this one will not fail. You fall in to a large circular arena, in the center a fire pit. Surrounding the arena are three smaller circular platforms, a Walker stands on each. Skolas watches from safety behind another wall. Wave after wave of Fallen begin their assault, with each wave getting more difficult to the point of it being impossible to actually defeat them. After each wave the Walkers regenerate a small amount of health. The Fallen Walkers are the target here, each is adorned with a House banner, destroying the Walker drops the banner-relic- which someone must take. Taking the banner draws the attention of Skolas and he orders all the Fallen to target the runner. It is the job of the runner to make it back to the center of the platform, keep in mind its not simply flat, it has several obstacles for cover, and bring it to the firepit. This must be done three times to enrage the Kell. He enters the arena to finish you off once and for all.
You have disgraced him, and his house, he is enraged and wants your blood. He will alternate between the three surrounding platforms using a modified linerifle which charges the same but fires three shots in quick succession, and the main platform where he will use a shrapnel launcher with ricocheting shots. This is the final battle with Skolas. This is where only one will survive. Who will it be?
chest locations:
in this raid there will be three chests, one for each noble member in the hierarchy, Prime Archon and Kell.
Chest 1: the sooner you defeat the Kell's guard the sooner you get to Kaliks. A timer is placed on when Niftiks enters the room. If you get there soon enough and defeat Kaliks before he can heal Niftiks even once a chest will spawn in the room from where he drops.
Chest 2: hidden away within the halls between the Archon & Prime and the Kell.
Chest 3: spawns in the final throne room of Skolas if you destroy the three banners before the fifth round.
How to guide from the creator with special input from runetheflameborn
Team: 3 defender titans, 2 warlocks 1 Hunter/2 hunters 1 warlock
Kell's Guard
Everyone finds their respective guard, some are stealth so it's more difficult. Take out each and move on.
Prime & Priest
Ideally you'll get here fast, designate 4 members to focus on Kaliks, if possible gave a Titan set a bubble at the door with Saint-14 to blind the adds that will follow.
Continue to fight Niftiks.
The Hallways
Separate completely again to better your chances at finding the correct path. Run past every fallen you can. If you find the chest stay with it, your team can find you after making it to Skolas.
The Arena Part 1
Separate into teams of two, one defender to each, defenders should have ice breaker or other substantial sniper rifle. Assault the Walkers at once, setting a bubble at the head of each and using heavy machine guns, shotguns, sniper rifles, whatever you can to down the walker immediately. The non-defender takes the banner and the defender offers cover fire since they can't fight.
The Arena Part 2
When Skolas is on the outer platforms stay center. When Skolas goes center break up into teams of two again onto the outer platforms. Ideally when you can drop bubbles at the back end. Shoot and return to draw attention to yourself and away from the other platforms. Use this method to keep him unfocused on one group of people, that shotgun will be a menace.
banner description because I was vague: Think the flags in control, when held you can swipe it, but it does practically nothing.
i pity the fool without education, here's some lore posts for ya:
Rasputin caused the collapse to save us

What type of raid do you want to see? Do you love/hate mine? Please let me know!

I want to see some of the Awoken rebel against the queen so we actually have something new to fight instead of recycled garbage we've been fighting for 6 months. I want to see new types of vehicles that we have to defeat. Hopefully something more ingenious than a tank that 1-shots you (a la rockets mckdickface strike). I want to see something entirely new, including ships that aren't re-skinned VoG ships, and sparrows that aren't re-skinned VoG sparrows. I want to see environmental changes that introduce new challenges. The best part of CE for me is the abyss where you lose the ability to jump...and that's not even "entirely interesting," but at least it's different. You know, something like in other games where there are booby traps or things that hamper your abilities. I remember when Bungie made a video that made it look like you had to run the jumping puzzle in VoG as a team. Something that requires teamwork, but isn't so impossible that it can't be done...that would be nice. I'm not talking about coordination like in CE, where 5 people are pressing one button to shoot a rocket while eating a sandwich, and the 6th person is slashing Crota with a sword. I'm talking about active participation here like in the Atheon or gatekeeper encounters. Anyway, too late now. I'm sure the raid is nearly finalized. I'm hoping it's good.

I'll be disappointed if this is not going to be the raid (which it probably won't but shush)
-
...shame... truly a shame. so much potential for such greatness.

Hire this guy..... Good stuff. Very well thought out and a lot of attention to detail and lore added to in-game play. Something extremely missing since say 1 of Destiny.

We should hijack a fallen walker!!! 4 guardians get to be inside of it and 2 guardians ride modified pikes that fire rockets. One guardian moves the walker, another fires it's tiny machine gun, one more fires it's bigger arc cannon and one guardian gets to fire the giant missile!! Maybe the objective would be to get the walker to the end of a battle field where the kell is bunkered down so that you can destroy his hiding place! All while being attacked by fallen and other walkers along the way

Rasputin link doesn't work
-
Anon you crazy bastard, great work as always. See you in clan chat.
-
a battle with a trio of archon priests would be pretty cool and fast paced.
-
Damn, that's some fine ass raid

Edited by GolDewayne: 3/27/2015 1:32:04 AMWow. That actually sounds much better than what I'm expecting. "The Arena" and "Test Yourself" just make me think they're going to waste this chance for more Fallen lore and an interesting raid with Horde Mode with the Queen and Awoken spectators. You should've posted this earlier. I'd love for Bungie to rip you off. That sounds very pessimistic, but the Fallen are my favorite race, and I'm just trying to keep my expectations low.
-
That would be so epic. It made me want to play destiny again !
-
Nice man. I would absolutely love this
-
The arena in my mind is like a Gladiator pit. Maybe that's what your saying can't tell. But ordinarlly this is where fallen entertain themselves and prove their worth. Somehow the Raiders drop into this arena and take on the best of the best fallen champions.
-
I hate long posts. I want to read them but I'm too lazy
-
Awesome man. Really like how much thought you put into this. I would play this raid to DEATH!!! Thanks for sharing it with us.
-
A phenomenal idea, my friend. I absolutely love the Arena stage. The idea of burning house banners to enrage the Kell is simply amazing.

Bungie... Hire this pig
Unknown gender confuses RpkTaylor
-
I wish man but bungie isnt this creative. I think it will be a short easy raid like crota
-
Edited by Pyrohydrant: 3/27/2015 4:22:13 PMVex will always be my favorite. Good story anyway
-
I have an idea: make your own version of what Crota should have been
-
Creativity is on point but the overall raid mechanics are not. This would make more for a strike than a raid. Similar to CE that only takes 20 minutes to solo. I have 100+ completions of VOG and 100+ completions of CE .. raid's are my thing and I'm overly worried the newest one will either be too damn easy or will rely too heavily on only one person, again. Unfortunately, considering how they dropped the ball on CE I feel this new raid will be equally as short with people producing videos of them running the entire thing WITHOUT guns, or with a Shotgun only, or with grenades only all solo.. as is the case with CE.

I'm worried about the length of this Raid. The first part would take 5 minutes tops if everyone has a Hunger of Crota or Gjallahorn. Then the Niftiks and Kaliks part may take 10 minutes maybe. 3 people to damage Kaliks so Niftiks jumps down to heal him and the others with HoCs and Gjallys can take Niftiks down pretty quick. The running part is maybe 1 minute to 2 minutes. Already that's 15-20 minutes. The only hard part would be the end part and it seems pretty easy. Devil Walkers can be easily outgunned by jumping and firing rockets and the rockets they fire are blocked by the rubble you can hide behind. This Raid would only take 30 to 45 minutes. Compare that to Vault of Glass. Easily a 2 hour Raid and Crota's End, which is about an hour and a half. This Raid really needs more mechanics because right now the only mechanics are the Relic which has already been used and the health regen.
