There's no such thing as a British accent. Britain is an island made up of 4 different countries. Each country has there own accent and they all have many different accents. Next time educate yourself before acting like a complete wanker ;)
English
-
5 Countries.
-
Ok so I just looked it up and you are in fact wrong. Cornwall is a county not a country, it's sovereign state is the United kingdom and its constituent country is England. I was right the first time man Britain is made up of 4 countries not 5. 4.
-
Oh, and Wales hasn't been a country since England conquered it. That's why there's an English Parliament, a Scottish Parliament, a Northern-Irish Parliament, and a Welsh Assembly.
-
There's no English parliament, only a British one.
-
It's actually the Parliament of the United Kingdom, formed from the union of the Parliament of England, the Parliament of Scotland, and the Parliament of Ireland. (the current Scottish Parliament and Northern Irish Parliament devolved again later). Before merging with the Parliament of Scotland, the Parliament of England formally annexed Wales with the Laws in Wales acts, 1535 and 1542.
-
That is true, but there is no English parliament. No elected governing body purely for English matters.
-
So just because they don't call it a parliament they aren't a country? You know fine well Wales is a country just accept it, there's even talk of more devolution for Wales after the Scottish referendum. And another thing, 1 o'clock in the morning and your still sat on these forums looking for an argument? I'm starting to get the feeling your not worth wasting anymore time on. Peace out bitch.
-
Nope, wrong way round. They don't call it a parliament, because it's not a country.
-
And I've just realized your not the person I was originally arguing with so I'm sorry for that lol had a guy telling me Cornwall is a country and I've got you telling me Wales isn't. Which is bullshit but it was fun debating this with you but I really gotta get back to work before my boss goes apeshit lol
-
Commonwealth games. The fifa world cup. Rugby world/6 nations. How do you explain the Welsh involvement if they aren't a country? But let's assume you are correct(which your not) and let's just say Wales isn't a country but Cornwall is(lol yeah right) then either way Britain is still made up of 4 countries not 5 correct? Which means this whole time you've been arguing I've still been right!! Can you hear that? That's the sweet sound of victory! "And the crowd goes wild Rafferty wins again ahhhhh!!!"
-
So sue me in your courts. And read the thread properly.
-
Don't need to sue you I've already won! Hard to read the whole thing when there's hundreds if comments and half of it disappears. The only thing I got wrong here was a case of mistaken identity, you've been wrong with several statements. But that's in the past now you've just learned something and now we can move on :D
-
Cornwall was a Country long before England was recognised. Some things are facts even tho wiki doesn't know it.
-
Yeah maybe in the past it might have been but it is now England isn't it? So technically I'm still right and your just clutching at straws because you can't handle being wrong. #winning ;)
-
Scotland England Wales and northern Ireland. The republic of Ireland is an independent nation and NOT a part of Britain. So that's 4 countries bro, better luck next time ;)
-
Cornwall is a country. I didn't count southern Ireland.
-
Cornwall is as much of a country as Yorkshire is
-
Wrong. Do some history and Wales is a Principality.
-
So that still makes 4 countries then!
-
Touche'
-
Mercia was a country once. I'm from Mercia. But I'm English because it's the 21st century and not the 9th
-
Good for you. I'm not however and nor are many of my Countryfolk.

"people should know when they are conquered" - Gladiator
-
Well you obviously do.
-
I was opening it up for you to quote the next line "would you Quintus? Would I?"
