Who plays guitar the best?
My personal fav is either jimmy page or jack white. I also love my some voodoo child though.
EDIT: Type Stevie if you like Stevie Ray Vaughan.

Edited by Zanketsu33: 3/25/2015 3:26:30 AMSurprised that Zakk Wylde, Eric Clapton or Slash aren't up there. My vote goes for Eddie though, Eruption is one hell of a feat.

I think that of the list above, Hendrix is miles ahead of the others. But if you want to listen to what a true virtuoso unencumbered by the bullshit of pop music, listen to jeff beck. He's not even from earth, he can't be, his music is completely different than anyone else. And everyone who is a famous musician is enamored by his playing.

Can't pretty much any proficient guitarist play pretty much any pop or rock song well, lol Who is the best singer, Christina Aguilera or anybody else??
-
Hendrix no question. The man is the man!

Second place would go to Stevie Ray Vaughn.

Just imagine what hendrix could have been? Oh man

Jimi Hendrix is/was the most innovative. He pushed the boundaries of what could be done on the guitar. His use of feedback was revolutionary. He is the most important to modern rock guitar. There are so many great guitarists it is impossible to list them all.

Depends really on what you mean by "best". Music is so subjective really, but I would go with Hendrix or Clapton. So versatile at inputting emotion into their work. All these guitarists are, Hendrix and Clapton just stick with me a lot. I love playing poker with my friends and just throwing on some Eric Clapton radio or one of his albums. Perfect mood.
