How did Bungie go down from being a top tier game developer to this....
even the user rating is 6/10...

How much would YOU rate Destiny??
To me this game is a 6/10 mainly due to how addictive it is to play with others in strikes and raids... everything else needs MAJOR improvements and where is that story at?
but i did get my money's worth after 500ish hours

For sure atleast an 8/10 in my book, at minimum ! Just because I've never played another game where I totally screwed my sleeping schedule along with 5 other guys to run our raids as soon as servers reset at 3 in the morning (4 in the morning for a couple of our raid members)
-
Objectively I can see this game has plenty of flaws. But when a game can keep me this addicted after so many months I can't give it anything less than a 9/10.
-
Destiny is a difficult game to give a rating to. My all time favorite is Ninja Gaiden Black and I'd give it a 9.5/10. I don't think I'd give Destiny close to that score but I'd never be able to put close to the amount of time into NGB as I have into Destiny. All things considered I give Destiny 8.
-
I'd give it a 6/10 as well. Top notch gameplay and graphics, solid soundtrack, but everything else is underdeveloped and poorly executed. You can tell by the weekly updates how much thought was put into the game. Adding things that had no business being added post launch.

5/10 Gameplay is good. Rewards meh. Mechanics good. Customization none. Story some tidbits but really nothing there. Repetitive play that slowly invades your soul. Top tier weapons, not really top tier. Reskinned rewards with no imagination. 2 month varied playability till you lose interest. (This is not constant play btw) Raids that rely on a group of 6 then forces you to rely on only 1 in the end. This takes away from the group effort and puts too much dependency on the individual and thus takes away desire for new groups to try it out. Finding groups to complete content. Material grinding for everything. Constant cheese. Put a bumper on second bridge wall for gods sake, so no more jumping up.--Honestly, the bridge without cheese is more challenging than crota sword ending. Lazy developers Lazy reward design Lag and glitches wouldn't be so bad if design was extensively tested. Lack of storage Lack of equipment Lack of personalization Not able to pick up fallen enemy weapons to explore new weapon use. No real exploration In summation, its a fun game to jump into for a bit. But has no sustainability and therefore no top score. When a game begins to feel like a chore then it has lost its playability.

The game is really boring 5/10 Lack story No variety Repetitive gameplay Not what they promise Segregate it's player No customization Need I say anything else ?

This game is essentially a beta for destiny 2. When you introduce a new ip in the world you take a lot of chances. It's a learning curve for us gamers and the developers. They learn what works and what doesn't work. We learn what they can and cannot do. All in all I rate this game based on the above theory, a 7. It can and will get better but you can't please everybody. More so when the story designer leaves right before launch.
-
5 or 6. It has good gameplay mechanics, but way too many glitches hold it back. Plus the content is sub par and the community has turned to toxic shit
-
5/10 I haven't played in 2-3 weeks. It was fun, but lacks long term appeal. Expansions are not worth the effort. Have moved on. Was not stupid enough to pre purchase HoW.
-
A 5 or a 6.5

It still baffles me how people can rate an experience with a number.

Edited by soul43: 3/25/2015 2:40:30 PM9.5/10, I play it everyday, how can anyone play something 400-500+ hours and then say it's meh, I stop watching a bad movie after 20 mins, I don't watch it 30x and then say, "yeah it's mediocre at best, 30th time made me realize it"
-
I've played destiny since release, and to this day I have about 2000+ hours, and lemme tell you right now that I'm finding destiny boring.
-
It gets 7/10 on gameplay alone. The rest is a mess though.
-
i wouldn't hesitate to give 7.5/10, in order to be 10/10 it would need several tweaks, like more customizing, less in-game curencies with something to spend them on actually and so on ...content-wise i am not really too 'annoyed', i know there should have been more, but luckily i have a family and a full time job, so i am okay with what is available atm
-
8/10 End game great. raids amazing. PvP fun. Weapon design and perks thoughtful + creative. Shooting mechanics are flawless. Needs more expansive story, more story elements, more background as to this world we inhabit.
-
The game made money, as was its purpose. Whether it was well made or well-reviewed doesn't really matter to Bungie. Welcome to capitalism, we hope you enjoy your stay.
-
Boarder lands is a better game, and they did it with less money, destiny could be so much better in my opinion. I give it 5/10. Cuz it's a good day
-
6/10 addicting but boring as hell grind. Same stuff over and over. Terri bad story, game mechanics are pretty good though. Graphics are good too.
-
8/10 no less. I completed amazing games, some game of the year like Batman Arkham series, Far Cry 3, Dishonored etc. Destiny is very different, it's no halo 3 (10/10) but it's pretty up there in my book. I gets dissed much too much just for being different, pretty original and in some ways innovative.
-
9/10 just because the game mechanics and all around gameplay is by far smoother and better then anything out right now. It would get 10/10 if it had been what it was suppose to be (story and exploration wise) but still compared to cod and the new battlefield it is God tier.
-
I think the problem is that people are rating the game based on what was promised and what we got. We got about 60% of what we were promised lol. Overall though I would give an 8/10.
-
If you've been playing a game as long as this (I myself have about 600ish-700ish hours in, then you've definitely gotten your money's worth. $60 for that long of playtime, hell yeah. Now I'm working on borderlands: handsome collection
-
I'd rate it 87% Would be 99% if not for the few flaws, but no other game has/will give as much playtime as this
-
I've had around 700hrs game play and I'm bored. Once I got the Gjallarhorn I lost interest. I tried iron banner and did ok,but the lag made me frustrated and I gave up. I'm only playing the Nightfall and Crota raid with my friend to help him get blackhammer then I put it aside for the rest of the week. I'm new to gaming and Destiny was the first game I really got into. For me it was more about the whole experience and not just the game itself. It's helped with my shyness and I'm now more confident. The people I met along the way made it what it is for me and some are now good friends. I played so much because of them and I have an illness that makes me house bound alot of the time, because while I was on Destiny I forgot I was ill,Destiny was my escape! I'm going to give HoW a go as I had already purchased it. Going to see how I feel after that as to whether I continue with future releases. And definitely going to not binge on it like before. 7.5-8/10. Could be better but I can't really complain. For all its flaws it's given me more than just hours on a game. Worth my money.
