In the lab Zara waits for a blood sample on the Scythe to finish running. Her team has left for late break and with this alone time she turns up some music and waltz's aimlessly to a song. As the music ends the sample monitor signals it has finished.
As she examines the results a low mist begins to fill the room. Her eyes widen as she realizes a terrible truth and feels the encroaching presence of someone awful in the room with her.

I jump kick it in the face with my gravity boots, knocking him over, then step in his face and turn the gravitic field to maximum and crush his head.

I begin trying to catch my breath, my heart is still racing. "It is dead right? Like... Really really dead? Oh my gosh. I can't believe I made a mistake like that!" Leaning against a table I have yet to let go of the sword and rub my head with my free hand.

"Yes well if you hadn't been here it could have been a whole lot worse!" I grab the Scythe and toss it into an incinerator. "That should do it. Those things can transport where a large tangible item of theirs is. The blood I collected should be fine. It's not enough of a source. Actually we might be able to improve teleportation and make it easily viable after studying the blood more.... I also found something else."

"I found out that there is something else out there. Maybe a weapon or creature the Mother hid from everything. Literally wiped its memory from the face of this planet. Oh and thank you for saving me~!" Walks over and kisses your cheek. [spoiler]better?[/spoiler]
