A good theory that I found on these forums is that the chief goes looking for hasley in search of help and is deemed a traitor by the unsc or something like that

It would make sense, due to her being looked at as a Traitor.

Yeah he probably took the 2nd half of the key from unsc and is now in search of hasley. Good thing my man's got laskey and arbiter on his side. But who knows since hasley is on the enemy of the arbiter's side. I'm sure chief believes there is a forerunner artifact that can restore cortana.
