Not really. This happened to me in a game of clash, I was smart and just backed off but you can't tell your random teammates that. They kept running into the slaughter. Also, they can start putting bubbles up while inching forward. So imagine a slowly travelling swarm of bubbles and golden guns...they will get you...eventually. You can't run forever and odds are that if you try and run out the clock, they will STILL have a higher score than you. If you try and have your team do the same strategy, it just turns into a really boring game of waiting.
