I just spent quite a bit of time playing in the Iron Banner today, and I'd like to add my voice to those many people in the forums right now complaining about the fact that anyone that lags, wins. My entire team had green bar connections, and we kept going up against teams with red bar connections, and without fail, the lag made the game unplayable for those of us with good connections. Those with bad connections, win every time.
What is Bungie doing to address the lag problem that is making the Crucible / Iron Banner so unplayable for those of us with good connections?
Sometimes this seems intentional on the part of the laggers. Lag switching, etc. Can this problem be fixed?
There are many times too, when the entire team cannot respawn. Can that be fixed as well?
Can we please have an official response from Bungie on the plan to improve the Crucible experience without lag? Thanks!

Here, a Video of pvp in Destiny.

I pretty much quit playing crucible awhile back cuz of people lag switching, sucks cuz I really want to complete my thorn bounty but will not be doing that untill this problem is addressed.
-
Isn't there a way to give preferential treatment to people with GOOD connections, rather than give the game to lag switchers or otherwise bad connections?!
-
Bungie, this is still a major problem - what are you doing about it?
-
What is Bungie doing to address the lag problem that is making the Crucible / Iron Banner so unplayable for those of us with good connections?
Short answer: Nothing. They don't give a shit. Unnecessarily long-winded answer: Nothing. They got our money, they don't give a shit.

My experience today. Oh I woke up early I'll play a quick match. Ship descends into black screen. I hear running around shooting and character noises. Screen still black about 10 seconds with noises. Then I hear the all too familiar shotgun uuuuugggghhhhh. Screen unblacks a few seconds later and I'm in the respawn screen already dead timer stuck at 10 seconds on a badly losing team with 3 people left on it. Quit and went to work

Nothing you keep playing the won't fix it

Do what I do, stop playing the game and stop wasting your money into this game. This is a beta to scam for money:
-
They cant do shit on a player to player connection. They need dedi servers. That would solve problems
-
Just glad I packed it back in Jan! My wife commented that I don't yell at the xbox anymore and seem to be enjoying gaming a lot more since I stopped playing destiny.

Man, I must be the crappiest player around. as far as I have seen so far, I have NEVER had a green bar while in the Crucible, always tiny red dot on my bar. It definitely has NOT been helpful to me. I am constantly unloading rounds into other players faces while their health bar doesn't change at all and then they just one shot me. Bungie, PLEASE fix this issue. pvp in Destiny as it is, is the most frustrating/annoying experience I have EVER had. This game is going to go down the tubes quickly if you dont seriously address this problem.
-
To answer the titular question: not a damn thing. They have your money, you think they care if you lose to lag? Honestly they wouldn't care if it made you quit the game. They will find more saps to sell it to, unload some more crap dlc, rinse, repeat.
-
They dont hear us... Not until you're prepared to throw money at your tv screen. They dont care how much you throw away or even if you're having fun doing it as long as you keep throwing. If you're struggling to hit your tv, keep at it that is what they call LAG.

Nothing.

It is bad, but there is nothing they can do about it. Dedicated servers may alleviate some of the issues, but they would need to be worldwide. No point in connecting from NZ or Aussie to some Nth American server with a 200 plus ping. Would make the situation worse, not better for some players. If they applied ToO matchmaking to all crucible, that may improve things? World wide dedicated servers would be awesome, but a pipe dream.

Just been in a another game and top 2 players lagging one had 109 kills no deaths, this game now sucks so bad none of my friends play it anymore and 1 of them works in a game shop actually advises people not to buy it due to the lack of support. I have also seen other people comments on youtube, i guess activision/bungie are games i no longer will be buying from.

They're going to every player's house and turning their shitty 15 dollar Wal-Mart routers off and on again.

I think lag is the best perk for a shotgun. It enables you to sponge enough bullets so that you are able to get within shotgun range, hammer forged and shot package are helpful, but with out doubt lag is the best perk. if you notice you are red bar, switch to blink, felwinter and universal remote combo and enjoy god mode.

It's All because of the old gen consoles. Even if you're not on one. It's still their fault. Because bungie is obnoxious and needs a scapegoat.
-
+1 to this thread. I honestly used to think "muh lag" was just an excuse; but, the more I play the more I'm seeing it. It's most pronounced with a Hunter.
nothing like slicing a guy up three times while using bladedancer just to have him teleport behind and execute me. Or getting scorch melee'd by a radiance warlock from 6+ meters away.
Definitely worse during iron banner, players taking full clips of heavy to the face and not being killed. Three shots to the head before one registers. Trading nearly every kill even though you killed them two seconds before hand. Mini teleports. People standing in the middle of nova bombs and not being killed. People teleporting. It is getting beyond the joke. I really like crucible but red bars make it unplayable. I usually play and have fun then I get a few games with red bars and my rage becomes unbearable that I have to hop off. People with good connections should have the advantage. Period... Whoever come up with the idea that people with crap connections should have an advantage in a multiplayer games is an absolute frickin moron.

I play this game for entertainment and I am entertained. sometimes the lag benefits me sometimes it doesn't. The problem is there are people out there who have awesome internet connection but with a small internet package. these people get made the host sometimes because they have a great connection but their internet speed is lacking the ability to support the 12 man game. And there is no fix or no way for destiny to know how much internet you have purchased. And destiny lags because there are millions of people playing. the reason why other games don't lag is because they're not as popular.

New algorithms.

It seems to be only addressed in ToO. Smh
