Can't play my purchased DLC

Hello Bungie, so I've been playing Destiny since December, that was when I got my PS4 (the game was included). So since I couldn't create a PSN account for a country that I lived in (Kazakhstan), I chose Canada due to my ethnicity. I played on it and after some time my friends told me that it is better if I'd make myself a Russian account since you can purchase RUB PSN cards (apparently something I didn't know at the moment). So today I bought an Expansion Pass for my RUS account (the one I’m writing this message from) and it didn’t work for my Canadian account. I got really upset since I only played Destiny from my Canadian account and as far as I knew it should have worked on both and it didn’t even appear in the library of my Canadian account. I decided to go see if it worked on my Russian account (I even had to create a new character since I haven’t even began playing it on this account) and it didn’t work. Eris Morn showed that I didn’t have the expansion. And yes I did restore license (a few times actually) and the Expansion Pass and the Dark Bellow expansions are in my library. I searched online and found out that this is because the disc’s region and the DLC aren’t compatible. The only thing I can do now is buy the game from the Russian PlayStation Store and this choice doesn't seem reasonable as I already have the game and purchased the DLC. I wasn’t warned about this and didn’t think that this would happen. As I see it, I’ve been ripped off for 29$ (that’s the conversion of 1800 Russian Rubles). I expect at least some sort of compensation for what happened since I spent money on this DLC and spent this entire day looking for a solution of something that your system didn’t think through. I expect your response pretty soon as if I'm in a pretty bad mood right now.

  • Yo Sig, Sorry to hear about the troubles. This is a Sony/Account/Region issue. This is not unique to Destiny. If you would have done this with another game, you would have experienced the same issue. I would highly suggest setting your region to your actual location, otherwise problems like this are more than likely bound to happen.
