So I've had this game for a while now (Actually since release date) and haven't really felt that difficulty I relate with in Bungie's previous games. I remember when they were on the halo series every encounter being something to go in skillfully. Then like a few people before, I thought of when they had the skulls and the fact that destiny has similar modifiers. It would be interesting to choose the skulls and the exact level you want to play for story missions and strikes. Maybe you and your friends want to test yourself in the Devil's lair with every single modifier and at the max level or maybe a couple levels beyond the max. It would add a bit more replay ability to strikes and story and maybe it can help you make a initiation for clans. Either way let me know that you guys think.
Edit: Thanks for asking about the how this would effect the loot system. Well with the story missions this will give you a limited amount of times that items will drop therefor protecting agains players going through the easiest possible mission with the minimal modifiers for easy loot. Strikes however the modifiers will add a slight boost to the potential chance of quality loot being dropped.
Edit 2: looks like the poll is supporting this as something worth looking into bungie. That and that I should Nerf my post lol!

A lot of text with very little separations... What is this about?

Why do something about grinding easy levels for max loot? Its a loot game afterall... but i like the idea in general. The only difficult task left to fulfill in destiny is survive the iron lag switch banner atm

I think if they turned light switch off, but had other the modifiers active and + levels, I would be okay with that. I hate playing with strategies of hiding as far away as possible and relying on ice breaker (it seems to be the main strategy for most people in harder difficulties). This strategy just gets boring fast.

Technically, you can play story missions on several different difficulties up to 30. But I think the only modifier is heroic.

Question: would it just not give out loot? How would you suggest loot be handled?

I like this idea, but only if the poll gets nerfed first. Way too OP bruh
