Destiny = Pay To Play
I hate how one of the weekly strikes
REQUIRE you to have TDB expansion; it makes me sick with anger whenever I ask my friend "Hey wanna run through the nightfall strike with me real quick?" and he replies "Nope, can't. It's omnigul." My friend doesn't have the expansion pack. The hell, Bungie?!?! My friend could have gotten an exotic, or a weapon that is absolutely OP in the crucible, but you deny him that chance because of this.
He can't get above level 30 either, so that means he gets stomped in the Iron Banner. (There's some Pay To Win for ya.) He can't get HoC and doesn't have G-horn, so it takes forever to find a VoG group that isn't full of the kind and intelligent elitists that we all know and love.
There are even places that are from the HoW that people have [i]already glitched into[/i]! (I've done it myself.) The $hit that we are all psyched to throw our money at is already in the game! Why are they making us pay for something that is already in the game?!
I'm so afraid that this rumored "Comet, Plague of Darkness" Mega DLC will also feature the content for the other two remaining DLCs. The Comet bs will be so full of Pay To Win/Play at this rate. What if the rumored new subclasses are OP? What if the weapons in this expansion are OP?
The bungie I know wouldn't do this. (Hell, any smart company wouldn't do this...)

Bungie never did anything of this magnitude to us loyal fans before they paired up with Activision. They were great to their crowd when they were paired up with Microsoft, even.[/spoiler]

Edit 1: I play with him on PS3. He got his own a long time ago, and he got Destiny for his birthday from another friend.
Edit 2: You guys totally are right about the term Pay To Play and how I should have expected a lot of expansions. Don't get me wrong, I like the dark below. But I really think that having to pay for content that's already in the game is fuqed up. I don't believe that you should have to pay again for something that you already paid for.

Destiny isn't the type of game where you can just not download DLC's and still play with 100% quality, nor should it be. The purpose of destiny is to adventure and expand with it with every new coming expansion. Besides, if your "friend" can pay for PSN, then he can pay $20 more. And it's not like you have a time schedule to buy the expansions, so I'm sure that at SOME point in his life, he can pay $20...

Damn.. This shit again? It is completely irrelevant whether it's already in the game or not. The game comes with a price, and if you decide that it's worth that or not, I leave to you. If the developer decides that the current game is worth 60 dollars, they will sell it. Say for example that there is a game that has the biggest world ever seen in online games and a massive storyline (not saying Destiny has this), but there are a couple of locked areas that you have to pay for, then is it nonetheless still worthy of 60 dollars? Your post suggests that you are quite narrow minded, but I hope you've become wiser after posting your thread and will refrain from doing so in the future.

Stopped readinf after you said "can't get above 30" He can get to 31 using vendor gear. AND 32 because of IB set + exotic helm Next, if it wasnt in the rotation many DLC players would feel absolutely ripped off that Bungie doesnt put it in the rotation for the minority who didn't buy the DLC

3 RepliesI think it's dumb that we pay for things that I can't play, when it's taking up space on my hard drive, THAT I HAD TO BUY to even play destiny. That should be illegal to make us download things we can't play. They are stealing memory from us. How is that legal? Memory is money. I could buy a whole other game and have it on my harddrive if I wasn't forced to have content that I didn't pay for apparently.

The first expansion cost $20 and the Pass cost $35. Now $20/6= about $3.33 a month (add 2 cents and there you have) $35/6=$5.83 a month (again just throw in an extra 2 cents at the end) Now let's go even further into this as there are about 4 weeks to a month (typically) $3.33/4=$0.83 a week $5.83/4=$1.46 a week So all the people that are still bitching about this are telling me that you couldn't rake leaves, mow lawns, or shovel snow to get the 83 cents or $1.46 a week to get either of these. I am sorry, but if you are still Bitching about DLC it is just because you are a lazy ass. Edit: This is an expansion. I am so sick of everyone crying that they can't have their damn cake and eat it to. That is what an expansion is about. That is like complaining about the ultimate vault hunter upgrades for Borderlands. Oh so you get locked out of weekly/daily event once in a while. Boo Hoo. The people who payed for an expansion, payed to EXPAND THEIR GAME. Seriously, what you are doing would be the same as bitching about not getting to play other DLC's or Expansion when others payed for it.
